Prof Kahf is a fantastic professor! She has a vast amount of knowledge about everything she teaches and makes every class interesting! I found myself absorbing more information in her class than any other I have ever taken. Read what she assigns and show up to class; she appreciates participation and it will get you a long way. Highly recommend!

Dr. Kahf is an amazing person, intellectual thinker, and educator. Taking her class will make you a better person. Jumps around in her lectures, but if you pay attention you will learn A LOT. Imo, she's the shining star of the English faculty at UARK. One of the best courses I've ever taken (as a grad student, I've taken a fair few).

Bizarre class. Readings and lectures were almost completely separate from actual graded assignments (so how were they an assessment of our understanding of the course?). Very knowledgeable professor but I found it difficult to care.

You have to keep up with reading, and she doesn't make attendance mandatory. However, she does a lot of group assignments in-class. Also most of her tests are straight from the lectures.

ProfKahf has been the best instructor I've had here by far and if the option is there, take her!! Participation in class is very important to her and if you skip class, you definitely will not pass. Take good notes and read, and you'll do fine. Class is fun and she's a goofy teacher.

Lectures are too unorganized. Very knowledgeable of the subject matter, but I'd say she's almost too informed for an introductory class. Fast talker, tries to cram as much into the lectures as she can & it's hard to keep up because her powerpoints are very vague/she wants your notes to be over what she says, not relying on what's on the powerpoints

Honestly, this was one of the most confusing professors I've ever had. She's very scatterbrained and her lectures reflect it. Rather than learning about the politics and geography of the Middle East, this was more like Intro to Islam. My biggest regret of the semester is taking this class.

Prof Kahf was a great professor when I had her for one of my surveys. She makes the class fun and engaging and adds her own flavor to her class. As long as you read and attend the class, you will pass.

her class is actually among the worst experiences that I have had during my life. All you need to do in order to explore the scanty accuracy in her speech is to review with a native Arabic speaker the material that she teaches and sometimes translates from Arabic. Oh. She is awful.

Great professor. Loved her activism and insight into global affairs; while this did disrupt teaching at times, it was always interesting, and in many cases, the better option. Expect to learn, but to enjoy every minute of it!

Very interesting and knows unbelievable amounts of information about many different things. Class is always interesting, but it's not always on point and can get garbled and confusing at times. Assignments are fairly easy, but very vague. Don't take if you need to be guided in your work. Overall taught me a lot of interesting things, not bad.

She really knows her stuff, but she can be a bit difficult to deal with. She's real big into different kinds of activism and will take up whole class times preaching about different social issues she is interested in, so class can get pretty off-topic.

I was in honors. The class was easy, but I don't think it's always easy. It depends on the semester. She's really nice, but the activities she makes you do are the type you'd expect in middle or high school. You have to do a group project and presentation. The lectures are sometimes boring and sometimes okay.

She's a little zany, but really nice and really knows what she's talking about. Unfortunately, she knows so much that sometimes it becomes a little garbled as far as clarity goes. Overall, she's pretty fun and she's fully invested in involving her students in what they are studying.

WOW! Avoid this class and teacher. Unless you feel like reading 100's of pages for each class. It took over 2 months to get tests back and papers take just as long to get back. She is a radical feminist and teaches from that point of view. Seriously avoid this teacher.

Intro to Middle Eastern Studies. You need to take an intro to this intro class. Unless you speak Arabic and are VERY familiar with the middle east don't take this class. This is graduate level work for an intro class. She is energetic and clearly loves the topic but is impossible to follow in lectures. I regret taking this class.

Very interesting, lively lady. First semester teaching H2P and did pretty well. Only complaint was that she had a hard time leaving out Islam in her lectures. When we were discussing Islam it was great, however, it needed to end there. Sometimes lectures got lengthy, but not bad. Self proclaimed Muslim feminist..which was pretty unusual and cool.

Professor Kahf was amazing. She taught me so much about literature that I didn't even know existed. She is highly intelligent and is able and willing to answer any questions you may have. If you want a good professor, she's the one. The class requires a lot of reading, but she makes it a lot of fun!
