He's an old style teacher, doesn't use canvas for inputting the grades , and you will never know your grade until the last day. The dumbest thing ever did to take his class.

At first he looks mean, but hes so funny and makes lectures really interesting and memorable. He makes the subject easy to remember. There's a lot of map quizzes but he allows makeups. Tests are easy multiple choice and directly from the book. passionate about subject and interacts with students a lot in class, extremely knowledgeable of material.

Walker is one of the best professors I have ever had. There is a TON of reading involved in his classes, but if you do the worksheets, you will do just fine. His lectures are wonderful and he is truly passionate about the subject. He is great, take his class On a side note, if he offers Russian History again, take it. That was a wonderful class.

Requires a lot of reading. Very lecture-heavy and requires a lot of note-taking. Lectures can be hard to follow. Tests and quizzes are very challenging. Did not moderate seminars well which allowed some students to talk for a long time and go off on tangents.

Probably the best teacher at Yvcc. Really funny, knows what he's talking about, and makes EVERYTHING interesting. Lots of books but I just used sparknotes, and lots of seminars. Tests are probably the hardest I've taken but if you show up everyday and cram right before you can easily pass with a B.

Awesome class and instructor. Strongly recommend anybody needing 5 credits of a science to take. Mr. Montgomery is an interesting dude and has many funny stories that always relate to the topic. The guy can probably make learning about grass grow interesting, very talented. Tests are nearly impossible, but there is always a little extra credit.

Best teacher I have ever had at YVCC. Super funny, and interesting. Really good guy at heart. His classes are not easy, he makes you work for them- but will always answer any questions that you have and help you to the best of his ability. Great guy and super intelligent.

Mr. Walker is hilarious. His lectures are very fun to listen to. There's a lot of reading in this class. Some of the tests seemed fairly easy, but some were impossibly difficult, even with studying. He also has graded seminars, which are the bane of my existence. Take notes, they will help. Challenging, but not insanely difficult.

He's a hilarious guy. I would take him again just for the fact that his lectures were purely fantastic. The one downfall is that his tests are extremely confusing, even if you study. But there are opportunities for extra credit where those points can be made up. Definitely recommend him!

Walker is freaking hilarious. The class flies by because he's so knowledgeable that you could listen to him rant for hours. Although he's not all rainbows and cupcakes. His tests are EXTREMELY hard. Read the material he gives you and come to class. Also, the class is bottom weighted, so most of the points are at the end of the course.

He was an interesting and funny teacher but I am not that into history and even though I took a lot of notes and studied for tests, I still did horrible on them. If you are not a history person I would say to stay away from this class
