Professors Perkins is a knowledgeable professor but he directly told our class if he had 15 million dollars he wouldn't be teaching. Unfortunately that shows in his teaching. If you attend class and follow along with the textbook you can easily earn an A, however the course has untapped potential due to his laziness.

I took this class for the AC credit, which can be also fufilled with art history. Even though this class is very boring and annoying, I still would have taken it instead of art history. It's an easy class to pass and get a good grade in if you go to every class and take some notes. If you're clear on the test and give examples, you will do great.

Dr. Perkins is very nice. His lectures do cover a lot of information, but it's interesting. Especially if your interested in art. He gives very few assignments, only 2 per semester. This means that exams are important. However as long as you take good notes and read you should do well.

Probably the worst professor I have ever had. He's completely unreachable and rambles on about nothing. Doesn't explain things well enough and expects people to know what he wants from them. If you like watching movies, and not learning anything, Museum Studies is the class for you I suppose. Never taking a class with him again.

has become impossible to get a hold of. also has stopped caring about his students. and watch out, if you find your truly passionate about the his subject areas (China & museums) he'll take things out of context and ship you to the dean of students. also don't bother talking to him about anything because he also doesn't listen anyways.

I'm taking a Museum Studies class with him right now and he's alright. He's very scattered and he loses his place a lot. It's kind of hard to know what he expects from you.

He is an awesome professor given the material in which he does research and teaches isn't the most clear cut areas of Anthropology. He is generally really helpful though difficult to get a hold of unless you have the time to stop by his office during office hours or know when his classes get out.

Dr. Perkins is a really nice and helpful professor. He's always willing to answer questions. He isn't the greatest and replying to emails but you can always catch him after a class or in his office.

Had him for World art and culture first - was the reason I majored in Anthropology. Have him for Museum studies, nice guy, use lots of examples from his lectures on tests, and relate everything to China :)

Likes to repeat himself over and over in his lectures so that gets really annoying. Class is really easy though just keep up with the readings and the tests are so easy you will fly right through.

Dr. Perkins is one of the nicest teachers at Potsdam if you get to know him. Some students find his lectures hard to follow, but that is because he deals with complex, ambiguous material. You can easily do well in his classes, but you will actually learn something if you are willing to engage with the material. I highly recommend this professor.

I loved having him as a professor. He is the most intelligent person that I have met at Pdam thus far.He is very enthusiastic with his subject matter. He's intimidating at first, but is very willing to answer questions+wants to make sure that everything is clear.Key to this class:know general concepts and be able to back them up with specific examples

tests don't have much to do with what he spends most of the time lecturing on. i think he pulls the test questions out of his butt. repeats himself a lot. not as bad as people make him out to be. nice guy but he can't teach. very difficult to get a hold of and very forgetful

I agree with some of the comments. There is a lot of material that perkins has to cover. The class isn't that boring. If you take notes in class, write down examples of artwork that support the themes (that's what will help you on tests). ps- I knew from the first day of class that perkins was hot...
