Poor communication and guidelines. No online syllabus or guidance. Students left important questions on the class discussion boards with no reply. His responses to emails were unnecessarily condescending and snarky. He might be better in person, but I would not suggest enrolling in this class.

Truly an encyclopedia of knowledge and wisdom in anything regarding law enforcement or just honestly life in general, has the most amazing stories and honestly made me love the criminal justice field even more.

VERY easy class! He tells a lot of personal stories about him being a cop. Really nice guy. A couple of quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 term paper, and a final. He gives you all the questions on the test and all the answers are in the book in order. Had him for 2 semesters now and will have him again next semester. HIGHLY recommend.

I will be honest your first class with Dr. Peterson, you feel like why am I here? However, I ended up taking 4 classes from him in the last 2 semesters. I have such a high respect for him. He is down to earth, straight forward, he has such an exceptional background in Criminal Justice & social studies. His stories are never ending but educational

Easy class with very knowledgable teacher. You do have to buy and read most of the book because the quizzes and tests are based on them. A couple quizzes, one midterm, and one final. Yes, he rounds up. Also, he gives you the test questions before every test so all you have to do is look them up. Honestly, it's extremely hard to fail this class.

Great professor and great guy all around. very easy going and informative. He tells you exactly what will be on the test.no HW just in class assignments. He genuinely cares about what hes teaching and his students. He tells a lot of his old war stories and their all funny. Thanks Mr. Peterson for making school fun again

Peterson is very...chill. He loves to tell war stories from his time on the force. If you've got half a brain, you can pass his class. Take what few notes he gives and read the book. He makes sure that his tests don't blindside you. He's also genuinely a nice guy and willing to help you out with stuff that isn't even school related.

I highly recommend this course. It isn't a traditional blackboard course but Dr. Peterson strives to make it as engaging as possible. Him and I had some very candid discussions about juvenile justice and the problems plaguing the system. His years of experience undeniably enhance the readings. What you glean from the material is up to you.
