I remember that a lot of students dreaded this class, with its exhaustive documentation and attention to detail. Of all the courses I took while at BU, this has been the greatest asset to my career by far. I didn't appreciate it at the time, bu this class was well worth-it. You get out of it what you put into it...

He's extremely rude and his homework consists of enormous amounts of busy work--repetitive, pointless tasks. The instructions are often vague and the grading is extremely harsh.

I took an instrumentation class from Prof. Isaacson in the summer of 1986 or 1987 while obtaining my Aerospace Engineering degree. I thought it was one of the toughest classes I had taken at the time. However, in the ensuing years during my career, his instruction proved to be among the most valuable I have ever received. Kudos to Prof. Isaacson.

He is the most miserable professor on the planet. His knowledge of engineering concepts is minimal, he enjoys belittling and humiliating his students and will use any excuse to fail you. Don't be surprised to find that his exams have nothing at all to do with the course content. Teaches via a ****ized socratic method. Just awful.

There is really no way to avoid taking this class with him. You will despise him and hate him from the very depths of your being. The class and capstones are pointless . final project examples: Grape Deseeder, Wheel Chair for the 3rd world, Bowling wheelchair!! who wants to put this on a resume!!

You would think Capstone would be fun, WRONG. He took that bit of fun and made it into a tedious boring endaevor. You absolutely dont learn anything from the assignments and tests are completely useless. What a waste of my life. Thanks Isaacson you are officially the worst prof in Mechanical Dept.
