terrible. does not release how the course is structured with regard to grades so you have no idea what anything is worth. assigns endless amounts of homework papers. dont take unless you want to put in alot of effort and get a B at BEST since he "reserves the amounts of As" he gives out.

There is almost no way to excel in his class. He gives excessive amounts of IRRELEVANT homework and is an insane grader on exams and takes points off for the tiniest things that don't affect the integrity of the answer so that no one gets 100% on the exams. Be prepared to spend 15 hours a week for a bad grade.

This guy is by far the worst professor that I have ever had in my years in school. He makes the concepts dull and boring and goes off on tangents that are not relevant to anything at all. by the time the test comes no one knows what to study. avoid at ll costs.

I took Arbitrage Strategies because I thought there would be accounting research as per the course description. Its heavy finance and barely any accounting. You have to read a lot and put in time to do well. Avoid if your an Accounting Student. Good professor overall, learned a tremendous amount of new things in finance and also taught SAS.

I hate finance but took this class because it was required. He is a good professor and is passionate about finance, but he doesn't inspire me to like finance more. Exams are hard and lectures can be boring. He's a really nice guy, funny too. For people who don't like finance, his class is tough but do-able and you just have to get through it.

I have no idea why so many positive feedback under this guy's review. Absolutely the worst professor in SOM, avoid him if you can. Otherwise be ready to get your lowest grade ever in college (or graduate) life!

You will understand a lot only if you do the homework and readings sincerely. He is not someone who will make things easy just so that u can pass. Take the class only if you are genuinely interested

Comment:
He is (de-facto?) head of the Finance dept. He is passionate abt finance + research, and that shows in his courses. 465 is a research survey course. Requires LOTS of reading. Don't take if you're not truly interested. 481B is practical and detailed and has small classes (3 kids in mine), so attendance is key. I recommend him to any serious student.

Only take a class with him if you are interested in the subject. If that is the class, you will learn a lot. Many times, he is hard to understand, but tries to get you to understand it. He is helpful during office hours. Everyone in the class gets A's and B's, but the amount of work is a lot. Overall, a good professor, but not an easy one.

He is Indian with strong accent, boring class, difficult to follow his concept and understand things. He did not want to curve, just made it 1 or 2 points. Try hard, if can, please avoid taking this class. Very hard test, try to practice with old exams. 2 midterms and 1 final. Make you feel like headache. Watch out. Finally got B+

Great teacher! He really wants you to understand the concepts and will assign a lot of reading to make sure you get it. Will deviate from the lesson, but I definitely learned a lot, and if you are serious about it, he is a great teacher. The tests, though tough, are pretty straightforward as long as you study the material.

He spent the time rambling about irrelevant topics and when it came time for the exams no one knew what to study. After our final he announced that he had taught an entire concept incorrectly, and continued to say that the overall performance on that exam was very poor. He'll help you, but only if you can ever catch him in his office hours.

He is one of the best profs one can ever have. Strives to explain fundamentals and its application rather than bookish knowledge. Very helpful in/outside the class. Gives a lot of extra readings so students learn financial concepts and current issues beyond textbook. Will be behind your every step if you work hard, will leave you if you don't.

The best if you have the guts to really know strategic finance. This guy works on building instincts - the only ones who do not like his course are dimwits who won't make it too big in finance anyways.

I don't like finance at all, but he was truly a great professor. He loved the subject matter and treated finance as a science, which is what motivated me to learn. His class wasn't about making money, it was about applying theories to different things in life. It's a shame most other SoM professors make their classes seem like one long sad joke.

probably the worst SOM professor ive seen yet. the man doesnt want to teach, he just wants to ramble for an hour and a half and thats exactly what he does. if you can take this class from some one else, do so. and the textbook is just as bad as he is so you cant even teach the stuff to yourself.
