She is the best professor I have ever had. warning; we started with over 20 students and ended with 5. it is a very hard class! There is a lot of demand, but it is worth it if you are willing to work and be challenged. I feel bonded with my 4 classmates because we made it. She is so knowledgable and I was never bored to listen to her.

Worst teacher I have ever taken. She was always late to class by about 10 to 15 minutes everyday, which meant that the tests she gave us (to write 5 paragraphs) were impossible to finish. I worked very hard in the class and learned a lot, but my grades didn't show it. I had to drop the class in the middle of the quarter, along with several others.

This was one of the most challenging and rewarding classes I have ever taken! We started out the quarter with about 20 students and by the end only 7 of us were left, so this class is obviously not for those seeking an easy quarter. I cared deeply about my 3.9 gpa but I really only have one thing to say: Effort Grade she is honestly that fair.

If you do not care about your GBA and your money, take it. NOTHING is going to get you a good grade ,and NOTHING will satisfy her. I took her class with 25 students ,and in the middle of the courter, only 3 students lEft. Most of the 25 have withdrawn because her treatment and hard grading. WIll BE PUZZLED.

Just don't do it, she is a brilliant English teacher, the best, but the worst because her grading system is ridiculous, even if you want to be drilled into doing the best papers that will last you a lifetime, there are plenty other Instructors that can get you there without sacrificing your grade.

I took this course in 2003 and fell in love with this woman. I was amazed at the depth of her knowledge. And she is tough. It was the hardest class I have ever taken, but I am so grateful for the experience. She truly cares about her students and goes above and beyond to help them. Can't say enough good things about her. Thank you, Nada.

Do not take this class. It is not worth it. For years she has given students a bad grade, and though she is well informed in her craft, it is the grading system that is not right here. The only way I would suggest this class, and that would be on a maybe is if you only have her one class, and I still don't think it is worth it.

You will come away with proficient skills for upper grad work! Meeting with Nada regularly is essential , she is dedicated to her students! Tests are challenging for the time allocated to finish.

I took Nada's English 101/ 102 classes in 1988. I was trying to get into the UW. I was accepted there, and managed to earn writing scholarships two years in a row, as well as many other writing awards. I can honestly say I owe these successes to Nada. She is the best instructor/teacher I've ever had;happy to read she is still going strong.

She grades ridiculously hard. I couldn't figure out what exactly she wanted out of my work until halfway through the quarter,it resulted in BAD grades for a good portion of the class. Pick a different 102 teacher. This class will take up all your time and you don't get a reward of a good grade even if you try.

Nada is hard. VERY hard. But if you are tough enough to make it to the end, you leave her class with phenomenal paraphrasing skills that no other english 102 class has. She is very knowledgable and is passionate about english. She goes into DEEP detail on citations and paraphrasing and plagiarism to the point where you can do it in your sleep.

I'm international student and my experience with Ms oakley was quite impressive. I can tell that she's hard in grading (I always get deduct because of my grammar), but at the same time, she's really devoted in student's success, you can make appointment with her (make sure you do it beforehand). She also very respect student. Love her

She's extremely hard and she gives tons of assignments. She's also really strict about paraphrasing and plagiarism (10 times more than any other profs) But it was a really helpful class. She teaches you a lot and you will have to work real hard to get good grades.

I was in a few of Nada's classes between 1996 & 1998 - she probably doesn't remember me - but she had a profound influence on my education and helped inspire me to continue on (I recently finished my master's in Natural Resource Management). She's puts a lot into teaching, expects you to bring your best, and sees you for your ful potential.
