If you choose to take ASL, TAKE HER. ASL 1 is only offered online and the programs suck. The quizzes never load and it's a very frustrating process. Nancy calms you down and understands and is there to help you learn and love the language rather than resent it and fail. She wants her students to succeed. The course sucks but she makes it better!

Easily the BEST professor at USF. She will ensure that you are able to pass all department-required exams, as well as pump you full of "real world" ASL. Although she relocated, she is still teaching ASL online, and I would highly suggest taking her if you want to succeed in ASL 2 and beyond, as USF's ASL Dept mandates curriculum & it is HORRID.

I absolutely love Nancy. If you ever have the chance to take her, please do. She's a wonderful woman who truly has a passion for ASL. I'm sad that she is moving out of state but she said she will still be teaching online classes so if you can, take her online class. I can't say enough good things about her.

I learned more in her first class than I did in my entire ASL1 class. She emphasizes a learning environment and is so passionate about what she is teaching. She doesn't care about the curriculum (which she actually despises) she cares about her students and what they are taking from the course. VERY reliable and just fun to be around, even at 8am!!

Great professor. Took her for ASL 2, and although we had a horrible textbook (not chosen by her), she made sure that the class always understood what the book failed to explain. She made it easy to remember the signs, and provided lots of interesting information about different aspects of the Deaf community.

She's a great professor. She brings a different view to ASL, because she's a CODA. It was really interesting to hear her stories about growing up wa deaf father, and she helped explain the Deaf community a lot. She makes sure that you understand the material, and is always there to help. She also makes the class really fun and easy.

best professors i have EVER taken. passionate about what she teaches and her students. I have never met a teacher that truly cares for her own students as if they are her own children. She genuinely cares about our success and achievements and wants to help us do well. She is hilarious and her class is so enjoyable. Fun and interesting assignments.

She is a wonderful woman. She knows what she's talking about and loves what she does. You can tell that teaching is her passion. Her class is very easy because she walks her students through every assignment. I definitely recommend taking her.

A wonderful professor who truly cares about her students and their success. She was always willing to help with clarification and never made you feel uncomfortable or embarrassed for not knowing a sign or signing something incorrectly. I would recommend her to anyone who was interested in learning ASL!
