This class was WAY harder than it should have been. I took this as a prerequisite for nursing expecting to work hard in the class, but it turned out I was teaching myself the readings nights before the exam. There are 3 exams and 50% is comp and 50% is essay. Half the material on the test you don't discuss. I wouldn't recommend taking her.

Professor Blomgren is a gift to VSCC! She is the sweetest person and would do anything to help her students understand the material AS LONG AS the students are doing their part. Be prepared for intense life lessons that coincide with literature analysis. As long as you're reading and showing up to class, you'll ace it.

This class was pretty tough. We had three tests and she assigns a lot of readings for each of them. Make sure you make time to read each reading and make time to study. Mrs. Blomgren is a great person, but her teaching skills need improving.

I loved this class BUT IT WAS SO HARD. You must be creative and able to think outside of the box. if you want easy don't take this class you will fail. You must work hard and give everything you've got and in return Blomgren will give you eveything she's got. She is very helpful with the essays just ask and use her office hours. MANAGE TIME WISELY.

Prof Blomgren is awesome. You have to take this class. There is a lot of reading, but its worth it. You will learn a lot not just about the past but the way things are today.

I thought she was a good professor, clearly intelligent and into her field. She grades tough but overall not bad of a workload. I like the group discussions she has us do. It does take her a long time to grade things though, but I understand that being an English professor, she would have a lot to do.

Professor Blomgren's class was one of my favorites at Vol State. The stories we read in World Lit were fantastic. The class is discussion based. I felt comfortable joining in, because of the atmosphere created by Professor Blomgren. She is very intelligent and her lectures are amazing.

This class was different from any class I've ever taken. She really wants the class engaged in the reading. You get credit just for coming to class and sharing your thoughts in group time. She doesn't answer questions clearly in order to make you think. The only problem I had was there was no way to keep track of your grade.

She's a great teacher but she is hard. She pushes students to do their best. As long as you are putting in 110% she will give 110% back. This is not an easy class but it will pay off in the end.

She gives an assigned reading, and then you get in groups the next class period and discuss it. The test are very hard and 4 page paper is due at the end of the year. It is a difficult class, but I learned more from this class than any so far. She is pretty cool if you read and do what your supposed to do.

Very down to earth. Great teacher expects no more than for you to know the syllabus and come to class. She is very versatile when it comes to what the class wants as a whole. We chose the grading scale we wanted to use and the due dates on all papers. Loved taking her and plan to take her for 1020

She takes an incredibly difficult course and makes it feasible. Every single assignment she gives is reasonable and necessary. She'll challenge you like heck, but it will so pay off. If you want to be a great writer, take Blomgren. The way she teaches is absolutely brilliant, to say the least.

I personally disliked this class and the Mrs. Blomgren! If you asked a question she would get an attitude and say you should have learned this stuff in highschool or it's in the syllabus! On many occassions she would curse at the class over someone walking in late she then began putting a chair infront of the closed door so you couldn't get in.

This is the best professor I had at Vol State. Simply put, she is not the professor who is going to give you the answer, but lead you to it. She will help you grow in leaps and bounds. If you came to learn, this is your professor.
