Starts out being very nice in journalism, eventually picks favorites. In my class the favorites ended up flaking out & then she expects u 2 pick up the slack. Doesnt treat u well until u show you r worth something 2 her. She is so spread out that its hard 2 have personal attention unless u r special & she goes 2 lunch w/u. I dont recommend her.

She is a great teacher, but is definately not for everyone. If you are looking for an easy grade, or an instructor who assigns easy tasks, you should go elsewhere. However, if you are ready to learn and push your existing abilities; take this class. Mrs. Pawlyshyn has been recognized by the President of the "Geek Squad" as an approved instructor

Journalism with Mrs. Pawlshyn was one of the best classes I have had at City, and I recommend that anyone with even minor interest in writing take her class, because she will encourage you and help you discover your talents! A WONDERFUL TEACHER!

She's a very nice woman. If she has the time she will help you, but throughout my many semesters working under her, she was always too busy and spread out to offer strong individual guidance. She's very friendly to beginning students, but after a year of studying under her, I began to see her as manipulative and playing favorites.

Mrs. Pawlyshyn is a great teacher! She's very patient and provides thorough instruction. When I first took English 1A I was scared to take the final written test, but by the end I felt very well prepared. She lets you rewrite your essays so you learn how to fix your mistakes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My favorite english teacher at SJCC. She explained things well, the homework assignments were fair, she gives you an opportunity to re-write your essays to gain a better grade if you were not able to obtain the grade you wanted the first time. Overall a nice, pateint, and easy teacher for 1A

Wonderful teacher, helps students be the best that they can be, if they want it. She pushes but if you don't want the help it's reflected in your grade. Totaly the students fault for getting less than an A because she is so easy to get along with. She cares and if you need help elsewhere shell help.
