Nandini really cares about her students and wants them to do well. You have to go to all classes to do well but that's the same with any language course. Lectures are fun and interactive as well

Took this as an elective. Overall great class. Definitely had to work for it though and by that I mean keeping up with your exercises weekly and don't fall behind. Fair grader in my opinion. Took this class with 3 other classes and worked part-time.

Comment:

Nandini is a nice lady and very approachable, however she is disorganized and not very clear regarding assignments. We rarely used the textbook and although my french developed a lot in the first semester, I lost it all in a very frustrating and boring second semester. The assignments were not hard but rather unclear and pointless.

This professor assigns too much work weekly. As a student with papers to write I do not need the pressure of her very long lecture videos and weekly assignments. Learning a new language should be relaxing and not stressful.

She is very clear through her lectures and makes it easy to understand what is being provided. She usually gives quizzes every week through an alternative site but quite easy to use and the quizzes are easy. She is an overall amazing prof, would recommend her to anyone that is willing to learn French!

Nandini was amazing! She is so patient and understanding. Participation is mandatory for in class students. But she makes the class as enjoyable as possible! Just show you are trying and she is amazing! Definitely recommend her!

Comment:

Nandini is a great professor to have for learning French. If you make even a mediocre commitment to learning French, then her course should not be difficult. That said, in the my basic level French course, I knew several students who hardly tried at all, and after a certain period of minimal effort, they got lost in the course and didn't do well.

supposed to be a course for beginners in french and I struggled through and was NOT a beginner. Nandini is a hard marker and not very clear on what she expects from you nor does she offer helpful information when you ask questions. She is extremely unorganized and all over the place. I would not recommend her courses to anyone.

Really loved Nandini, super vibrant and engaging. Really respectful when you make a mistake and always open to answering questions. Go to class, participate and try and practice some french outside of class and you'll be fine. What she's really looking for is people who are willing to make mistakes in order to improve their skills.

Mme Sarma est un bonne professeur. Elle aime les langues et elle veux les etudiants aimer la langue aussi! The course was fun and relevant to french one would need to speak in the real world. I thought I would dread this class but I ended up loving it! Take french with professor Sarma you will learn so much more than you ever thought you could!

Great Prof. Written comprehension is not the most exciting subject but she teaches it clearly and patiently. Gives lots of tricks to remember info. Very quick to respond to student concerns. So impressed am I that I signed up for the next level. A+ !!!

Nice prof, funny as well. However, it's hard to see what progress you are making in the course. For the oral component of the course, no feedback is given on how well you are doing. For a beginner french class, it seems that high expectations are placed on the students, making it hard to do well in this course.
