Comment:

Mr. Whitten is actually a nice guy, he's just very stand-offish. He's a tough grader but is mostly fair, and the notes he leaves on homework assignments can sometimes be patronizing. But if you have a problem, he's happy to help and really wants you to pass and will do what he can so you do. Just do the assignments and speak up when you need help.

Mr. Whitten seemed to have his head in the cloud 99.5% of the time. His lectures are not clear and he was confused easily by his OWN writting. He lost one of my homework assignments and refused to give me a grade, resulting in me having a 89 for the class. He would walk out of the classroom unexpectedly. He is a nice guy, just not a good teacher.

Excellent math teacher! Would recommend to anyone going to KC! Extremely clear lectures and expectations on homework/tests. He has some odd habits and he might even be a little crazy, but it's all part his genius! Calculus is a hard subject, but he makes easy to understand. Umm... That's it I guess... See u du later! I'm not sure why this guy gets such great ratings. I am an A student, and I ended up making an A in the class, but he was extremely rude and unfriendly everyone. He gave feedback, but he counted off if your work was not the same even if you got the answer right. If you want to take the class, go for it, but I do not recommend it.

He is very clear with what he wants and he does not waver on his grading. Therefore, if you can follow precise instructions then you will be fine. He is also pretty funny and will lighten the mood every once in a while during his lectures in order to keep students awake and interested. He is a great professor and I cannot wait to take him again!

I definitely recommend taking him if you really want to learn the material and if you are good at following directions. He gives step by step instructions that are very clear. You have to attend this class to pass. He gives the occasional extra credit but he grades hard on the tests. Details and correct terminology are a really big deal to him.

I LOVE Mr. Whitten. I honestly refuse to take any other math teacher. He is the absolute best. He can be a little odd but he is VERY intelligent. He knows the material very well. He is very helpful and as long as you put forth effort, he will too.

I've always done poorly in all math classes, but I did great in Mr. Whitten's class thanks to his unique teaching method and helpfulness. He is willing to give extra help if you need it and tells you exactly how to pass his class. Great teacher!!

Mr. Whitten is a nice man when he wants to be. He wants you to ask questions, but when you do he gets frustrated if you don't get the concept right away. He is not always patient. He does know his math, but he doesn't always explain it well.

Out of the six math courses I have taken at KC, Nate Whitten taught two of them, & I wish he had taught them all. He's by far my favorite professor of mathematics; his explanations are intelligible and interesting. His humor can be subtle or odd, but that is part of his genius! I highly recommend him to anyone that wants to have fun & understand.

Mr. Whitten is fantastic. I enrolled into college as a nursing student and ended up getting my bachelors in both math and chemistry because of him. He comes across as odd, but only has intentions to help you. Take notes, ask questions. He's more than willing to teah outside of class if needed

ABSOLUTELY WORST TEACHER I EVER HAD. I should have dropped, but ended up trying to stick it out. I ended up with a B after studying 20+ hours a week. He was moody, arrogant, and insulting.

Mr. Whitten seems like sort of a strange guy at first, but he turns out to be a math genius. He is good at helping his students learn the material and he knows more about math than any other teacher I've ever known. If you want to really know the material, talk to him after class and he will usually make things become very clear for you.

I thought he was a great teacher! I had him for Algebra and Statistics and I aced both of them! He really wants to make sure that you understand what he's trying to teach! He tells funny stories, and he's joking almost all the time even though he seems serious. I would take him again if I could!
