Although his class may be boring--- I havent learn more about hiostory in any other class I have ever taken. He really forces you to learn the stuff if you want a good grade.

These kids are all haters, don't let 'em ruin Max, or "The Collinator," as I call him. He once killed one of my classmates because she refused to accept that there are no tigers in Africa. That is the kind of dedication you can expect from "The Collinator." And, when I say his class is hard, I'm not talking about the difficulty.

Boring, anxious and neurotic about what he expects. Even when he says "is there anything I can help you with?" his help is useless. Only sort of knows his stuff--very knowledgeable on Russian history but doesn't know much about anything else. VERY insecure.

Really easy class - learned almost nothing though - this guy belongs @ occ - has his students teach about 1/2 of each class and tests you on thier (potentially wrong) presentations, which you typically can't even understand (public speakers talk fast) easy class, crappy lazy incompitent prof.

Would not recommend, very knowledgeable but lectures are frusterating as they are unorganized and unclear, wrote words on the board that were irrelevant, he makes you feel like you are back in junior high- I took a 6pm class and he requested a note from my employer for being late to class one time!

This must've been his first time teaching 102. He seems organized, but the way he presents just makes things...boring. I wanted to go to sleep way too often for my liking, and I'm a history major. He doesn't like questions he can't answer, and you must word things exactly as he wants on essays.

Very knowledgable about Russia. Knows his stuff. Can be quite entertaining as well as quite boring. Grades very fair. Take lots of notes and study for tests and you should end up with nothing less than a 3.0

very backwards teacher. studders a lot saying a lot but not much at the same time. boring. was a night class -felt eternally long. doesn't attempt to make this class fun but tiring and if you dont word something exactly as he would have then he will cross out whole paragraphs. will not take again

All the comments below are more or less on target--even regarding his mannerisms. But "boring" is subjective: Russia is an important lesson about socialism. He is capable of treating that issue fairly, with no revisionism. Overall, not a bad tea

This guy needs to relax and clearly say what is on his mind. An easy class if you can stay awake through the lectures.

Borring. He has to relax and get a life, let some more fun into his mind. He's a good teacher, knows his stuff, but don't really know how to present it. Sometimes i look at him and he seems like he's stuck in time, somewhere in mid 70's.

Interesting guy, well informed, although a bit rigid in regard to expectations. Lots and lots of lecture, but easy to follow, and videos are mixed in.
