His Media Aesthetics is such a frustrating class. He is a TOUGH grader when he has no reason to be. One little issue with a critique or a part of the final project - which he expects to be perfect - and your grade tumbles. He tries keeping the class interesting, but its hard to care after the midway point.

This class is one like you have never taken before. The majority of the semester we watch movies that relate to our lessons about the aesthetics of movies, such as light, color, filming, etc. The final lesson is a lot of writing, but it is well distributed and not that bad and makes you think. Only thing is he is a tough grader, so be prepared.

hes a pretty cool guy and is very helpful. applied media is a difficult class, the essays and projects take a lottt of time but if you understand it youl do fine. most of the final project is pretty much squished into two weeks so be prepared! his examples are great and helpful

Eckhardt is a classic old school-style teacher and he seems to be a former hippie! Once when I had a hard time keeping up with my various assignments, he pulled me aside & promised to give me a C as a final grade. I buckled down and earned my grade.

Eckhardt is really a mystery to me. For this class he makes it very interesting and if you pay attention the major project isn't that hard. But he really isn't that helpful even with the comments (and other teachers say he is) plus his Hippie attitude is very annoying and it feels like an act.

A hip and down professor who lets you be creative. Exams may be a bit tough, but the final project really determines your grade. He knows movies and he may use one of your favorites in class. Highly recommended for Radio/TV/Film majors.

While I get the sense he was once a carefree hippie, he at some point in his life morphed into the exact opposite. He's a strict conformist that has no problem making sure that everyone knows if you walk in late. He seems to have a passion for what he does, but fails to deliver it to his students.

By far one of the best professors I had at Rowan. If he seems to be working you hard and trying to push your buttons it means he knows you have what it takes and he's trying to get it out of you. I never had to work so hard as I did in his class, but I came out much more confident in myself and my abilities. Definitely recommend him.

Professor Eckhardt is a great guy. He breaks down and teaches you the formats for prime time, network television and brings you through the steps of developing your own TV show. He's a crazy guy, but he really cares about his students and imparts some very useful knowledge in terms of how to make it in the business. He's understanding and funny.

Good Guy, good class. Lot of writing but what do you expect. Weird guy but helpful. He tries to inspire and motivate you throughout the class. "This could be you baby." Haha. I just had to comment on him after reading his comments. The land of Oohblahdee! Classic stuff. With Ned, just remember not to back down on your ideas. He may not agree with you at first, but he will listen as long as you back your idea up. Listen to him too about what you will be looking forward to when you graduate college. You will be making the exact amount of money that he says you will. After I graduated, I realized how true that man was.
