i thought he was a great teacher. maybe i'm just weird like this but i thought his rambles were entertaining. he was obviously knowledgeable about the subject and loved teaching it. he did go off into some tangents but for the most part they were funny. he's definitely not boring at all

I would not advise students to take this class with the worlds largest deusche bag. He grades like a complete prick and is extremely unorganized. He is hands down the worst teacher I've had in my 4 years at Ohio State.

Grading is very unfair! He tells you the minimum work needed to be done to get a C! News flash: We all take your class for an easy A. I don't care about the topics/concepts. Give me your A and I'll move on. Every class I have had told me what it takes to get an A. AVOID him and thank me later.

Awful class, awful teacher. Rambles on and on about absolutely nothing, makes bad jokes, never tells what will / won't be on exams. No grading rubric, he just grades on a whim. So unfair. I HATED this class and this prof ... he shouldn't be allowed to teach.

First of all the class is not very difficult if you need an easy GEC. But Jacobs is very unorganized and his lecturing is illogical and annoying. He is knowledgeable and dedicated to the subject matter, but the class has no structure. Grading is unfair as well, he grades on how he feels and is not consistently.

Class was easy, papers took very little time. Videos were sometimes interesting, sometimes boring. Lectures sometimes hard to follow and seem to go on forever. Interesting information and perspectives.

Great class. He loves to keep you for every minute of the class and hates when people leave. He is a brilliant mind with a lot of things going on in his head...he jumps around a lot. Take notes in class and follow the study guide you will have everything you need for exams. All short answer but not difficult.

not a very difficult class, it helps to have some sort of passion for the holocaust to help get into your papers. don't sit in front, he gets so into his lectures, he gets pretty sweaty, seems like a nice guy, and was understanding and tried to be fair.

Constant tangents. The man is brilliant, but it takes a lot to keep him talking about what you need to be learning. Just get him talking on Jewish Cabaret and you won't need to take many more notes on that class for the rest of the day.

Very passionate and informative about the subject, but the class was very disorganized and that kind of drove me to not want to go so much. Exams suck, but the assignments are nice. More supervision and interaction on the group project is DEFINITELY needed.

This was the best class i have taken at ohio state. The material was very intersting and i always wanted to go to class. He is very passionate about what he is teaching and bc of that you get pretty passionate about it too. this was my favorite class by far.
