The worst teacher I think I ever had. Homeworks easy you just have to remember the answers.. Tests are ridiculously hard and do not match anything he teaches. He's a complete imbecile

This is the worst professor I have ever had. I have never gotten below a B and I got a D in this class. I did the onlin homework, atteded all te classes, and went to the review. I failed all the tests. When I went in for help, he gave me an extra book and told me the chapters didn't match so I ha to figure it out on my own. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

By far the worst teacher I have had in my college career. I have never gotten anything other than a C+ in my life, but failed this class. I did all the homework, went to the reviews, and never skipped a class, yet I failed. His grading is horrible, and his lectures are very repetitive and rarely relate back to the exams.

Professor Niman is the man! I learned a bunch of useful and neat things in his class, as well as the way to go about thinking. He is very helpful outside of class and cares about students who care about their future

Agree with previous comments. The professor loves to hear himself talk, but most of what he says is useless from a learning standpoint. The only benefit to going to class is to figure out what he wants, and be able to regurgitate it back to him. Very uninspiring. Just play it safe on exams and get the course over with.

This Class was a joke. I had taken Economics in high school and loved learning about it but i soon learned to hate everything it entailed. The lecture was always boring and although the teacher was funny he wasn't very helpful, never answered my emails or explained things clearly, not even when i met with him one on one. Our class average is a 68

Funny guy, relates things to his family quite a bit, and deals with concepts, not specifics. If you grasp concepts from reading text, not necessary to go to class. Do the review questions, it helps grasp material and adds 10 points to your exam score.

Pretty boring lectures, but if you can keep awake/pay attention he explains things pretty well. not mandatory homework but reveive extra credit on your exam if you passed in on the review day.tests are hard you need to study, class average on the 1st was a 54.decent teacher if you study before the test an attend more than half the lectures

He's really funny but he has you read the chapters and then doesn't teach you what's in them. It's easier to just teach it to yourself.

You better agree with his points of view (although he may say he wants differing opinions), and his grading is highly subjective-- if you try to apply specific concepts he'll kill you grade-wise, so keep it general and safe.

Neil is a funny guy but this class was useless. From an educational perspective he did not teach us anything, everyone was always confused and the new homework thing he tried out was a complete failure. I would advise to find another professor if you want to understand macroeconomics at all.

I thought he was funny... and really nice to his students. Sure, he goes off on these huge tangents about his family, but they acutally usually end up relating to the subject matter at hand. I'll agree that he's monotone, and there's a lot of reading, but I liked him so much I took another class with him this year!

OK so maybe this guy may be a little monotonous, but you can learn SO MUCH from his class if you follow the subject. Our class was required to do a lot of reading on our own if we were gonna stay on target. Tests are pretty difficult, and he's a tough grader when it comes to papers, but he's always available to help if you put in the effort.

Ok, so I thought Niman was funny. Boring, yet funny. He definitely talked a lot about his personal life, but that sort of was the funny part. The papers were a pain in the ass, but overall I liked the class.

Knows the subject matter very well and teaches it effectively, adding humor and his life stories. The tests and material are hard, but reasonable if you put enough time and effort in. He grades on a curve, so it doesn't matter how lousy you do; if you're at the class average or above, you're fine.

This guy is the worst teacher I have ever had in my years at college. He doesn't base grades on anything but his feelings but does curve. Most of the students don't go to class becasue it is pointless, un less you would like to learn about his family. You might as well teach this course to yourself!

Reminded me of Steven Wright, the comic. Course was very theory oriented, too much writing. More applied material would of been nice

Very hard to stay interested in the subject. Niman most often talks about his own life in an attempt to do something... not sure what. Class was very boring, tests very hard. Grades based on 3 tests ONLY. no homework or labs to help with understanding...
