I don't get why everyone hates this guy. I got an A- and it was not very difficult. DON'T BUY THE BOOKS!! I never read them, and you don't need to read them to do well. He takes attendance very spottily. My strategy: write concepts down in class, before the exam, look them up on Wikipedia and on the exam write as much as you can about them= A

Prof. Salzman is the most arrogant, nasty, and contradicting professor I have ever had. He claimed plagiarism on my book review, even though it had the proper citation (nothing came of it), he then ripped my paper apart, which was well written so claimed the paper reviewer and many who read. Bottom line AVOID him at all costs; he is so petty.

Professor Salzman sparked my interest in learning in general. I was not a good student when I first took one of his classes, and I found the subject matter difficult, but he inspired me to want to do my best. I will be forever grateful!

Worst teacher ever!!!!! I don't recommend this teacher for core-3. I've never got Cs in any of my paper yet, but this guy just making it impossible for everyone. never appreciate yr work and ideas Not a fair grader at all. Salzman is old, crotchety and miserable; he will make your life hell. Should not be allowed to teach, because that certainly is not what he does. I've never had to work so hard in a class in my life and still DIDNT get an A.

AVOID.had him for chinese politics and is one of the worst teachers at Fairleigh. Goes off on tangets, doesnt use any of the 4 textbooks you pay so much moeny for, and is completely useless. Didnt learn anything in the class.

Sweet and helpful teacher. Good for students who do NOT like a lot of structure in their class. If you like a strict syllabus, then don't take him. I'm more of a "structured" person myself, but I still enjoyed the breadth and depth of knowledge on Russian History to which I was introduced by Prof. Salzman. Fair grader, flexible deadlines.

This guy's an idiot and doesn't know what he's talking about. He gave us 2 syllabi with conflicting assignments which weren't accurate to the class anyway. He tries to pretend he's fair-minded but I still don't understand his grading style, because he doesn't have one.

What is most important to understand in his classes is that students need to LEARN HOW TO BE CRITICAL THINKERS!When a student says "I worked on a paper for 4 days" is a joke.Papers should be worked on for weeks, revise, revise, revise.So the student is to blame not the Professor. He accused me of cheating on a paper I did well on (I hadn't cheated) even though he knew I was one of his brigher students. He also accused me of taking drugs based on hearsay (I wasn't taking any drugs; he'd misinterpreted what he'd heard). He's not the worst at being a teacher, but he's pretty bad at being human.

He is a nice guy, but is a very tough grader. It is nearly impossible to get A's in his classes. Always wants writing assignments to be proofread by that ASC. I always went to his office hours for extra help and show effort (to prove to him you are trying). He is flexible about handing the work in (I turned a lot of it in at the end of semester).
