He's a phenomenal teacher who goes above and beyond to help his students learn. Though the course was challenging at times, he to the best of his ability made sure that we understood the concepts clearly. I'd hands down take another one of his courses again.

I learn more when I cut his class. This guy reads slides from ziegler which are old and have tons of mistakes. He even confused himself from reading it. His attitude is terrible when you try to take away even a minute from him after class. Avoid, unless you plan on cutting.

The reason I said lots of hw, its because he doesn't teach well. You have to teach yourself and do practice problems. I recommend supplementing the Book of Proofs. He seems fine during class, but is a monster during office hours. Kept calling my questions dumb and sets a time limit despite nobody else being there. I mean, at least he grades tests.

I was trying to take another algorithm class which was full already, so I had to take him. His lecture was terrible, and made a lot mistakes. Midterm was not so hard, and you can use internet but actually didn't help. His final review sheet is easy. But the final exam was very difficult. We had to do 2 dynamic programming algorithms and others.

Took Zhou for Data Structures and honestly one of the best CS professors I have ever taken. Read the textbook, study for exams (not difficult) and definitely an easy A! He really knows the material, very hilarious (an upside) and overall a really understanding Professor! Would highly recommend taking him, trust me you definitely won't regret it!!!!

He is a wonderful teacher , he explains things thoroughly, will even write code right in front of you which is so helpful! some students complain about the class, it is NOT because the professor is bad, he is an amazing teacher. it is simply because the class is difficult, and if you dont have a good background, you will struggle.

Taught way more than original scope of class but didn't go hard in tests. I'd take him again. Gave me good grades even though didn't do 2 assignments. I felt I got introduced to lot of core CIS concepts, will take him for another class. Not easy but not hard. Easier than hard. As a person he's genuine, easy going, casual and funny.

This guy is horrible. He makes fun of the students he doesn't like, and is not a nice person. There is something legitimately wrong with his head. Avoid meeting with him in his office one on one.

Unfortunately he went slow and we didn't cover the whole book but he went over the basics of each data structure we discussed. Tests weren't difficult, there was weekly homework. The lectures were sometimes pretty boring but he did say some good stuff about computer science/programming. If you're decent at all at pgmming do the work and get an A.

Datastr, He assumes you know the material, can make you feel dumb if you don't thus, discouraging students. If he explained the material in a simple manner instead of flooding you with assignments and then expecting you to know it from that, he'd be okay. His sample exams and tests are nothing like the actual thing. no open book like prev ppl said

Besides his teaching accent, his teaching style is great, especially for his students, got a sense of humor, very organized, uses the notes on both the blackboard and the smartboard. Homeworks are good (just do the #8 questions), gives the 3 sample exams to review for the 3 real exams, a very easy grader, always answers questions about this course.
