She is a funny & nice lady, not the best teacher. Her class was needlessly difficult. She assigned us a million things to read, and then only 10% ended up being on the quizzes. It was a 5-week summer class and I was taking 2 other classes on top of it, and just didn't have time for leisure reading that she assigned. MANY forum posts, tough grader.

Neva is a super nice lady and will do anything to help you understand the topic at hand. There is a lot of writing and she is kinda a harsh grader. I would definitely recommend her though.

Neva is a nice lady and really funny. I learned a lot from this class, but I feel like the material was really repetitive. There were no tests or quizzes, just journal entries and a group project at the end of the semester.

Dr. Specht is awesome. She really cares about finding real-world, hands-on experiences for students. She holds students to high expectations and won't spoon feed the material to you, but if you need help she is happy to do so as long as you are proactive about it. She's a cool person and a great professor.

Pretends to care about students but its just a game with her. Class was insulting in its easiness, more like high school than college level material. She is a creepy person. Specht is not someone I recommend to my friends because you don't really learn anything meaningful, superior attitude is grating. If you liked high school you will like her.

She is a terrible history teacher, knowing very little about what she tries to teach. She is not qualified to teach in high school much less college, and I do not recommend taking her if you know anything about history because she will only infuriate you with her ineptitude. Dreadful woman, obsessively revisionist. Told me in class once that the "Wheat Wars" in Ukraine under Stalin didn't happen. Routinely insults and contradicts students with whom she disagrees, even when they provide sources for facts within their arguements.
