I loved Dr. Mayr. If it wasn't for him I would hate history. He really knows his stuff. His tests and papers are pretty hard, you really need to know the material and make sure you read the book from cover to ending. He will not take anything from the lecture notes. Also his little jokes are really funny, keeps everyone interested in the subject.

This was a hardcore history class, you have to read your big textbook. He gives you like no credit for using lecture facts on exams, only for textbook/outside facts. Gave 2 reasonable exams and 2 pop quizzes. Still, he made the class very interesting while staying on subject. Although an immigrant, he speaks perfectly.

His tests are terrible... if your a histroy major then his class is justifably hard, but if your taking it just becuase you are interested in history it's not for you! trust me, more work in his class then all other classes combined

This man is the best history teacher ever. He is very insightful and you always walk out of class with something actually learned. His tests are preety tough if you don't study - but you can get by the course from reading the Cliff notes of Kill a Mocking Bird and Grapes of Wrath. I highly recommend anyone to taks this course.

Etremely **** professor. He failed every boy and passed every girl. I did all the extra credit and nothing was good enough for him. Although he did help alot with my 2nd test, when it came to my grade he ffailed me for missing 2 questions out of 5 on a book that wasnt in the syllabus. Take Barnes for history.

The tests really are hard, but he does everything he possibly can to help you. If you outline your answers for a test, he'll look a them and tell you if you're on the right track or not. He's probably among the most helpful professors i've ever had! Take him but only if you're willing to study a LOT for tests.
