Comment:

Very funny guy, and a really good class. Actually makes you think about stuff, but is extremely cynical and makes it hilarious. I dont get why people dont like him. As long as you go to class, and not be late youll be good. Tests are really easy if you pay any sort of attention.

Good professor. Makes it very clear entire grade is based off average of 3 test scores and thats it. Allows you to miss 4 classes and after that you get dropped from course. Just pay attention in class and read the textbook day before test and you can get by with As and Bs. Hes also a very funny guy VERY sarcastic

His classes are mandatory. You are allowed I think three absences then he drops you from the course. The lectures are boring at times, but other times, very amusing. You take three tests which are VERY fair, even if you don't do the readings. Your grade is based on the three tests. Make sure your cellphone is off, he WILL humiliate you.

Easy easy easy introductory class! I barely read the book and got no lower than 91% on tests. Just show up for class and don't use your cell phone, and you'll have no problem. Weiner knows what he's talking about and is relatively amusing, though he does rant sometimes.

He is a good professor but he has a problem with rambling on about the same thing for about 20 minutes sometimes longer. He really is passionate about sociology and attendance is somewhat mandatory. The lectures can be boring and you sometimes have to keep yourself awake while he rambles on.

By far my favorite professor. Your final grade is made up of three tests that are easy if you read the textbook and go to class. He takes attendance so you must go. Extremely sarcastic but it makes class interesting. Don't argue with him or be rude or you will regret it. Highly recommend taking this class!

Dr. Weiner is amazing. I am glad to know a professor who is not content with spoon-feeding his students information and then expecting them to merely regurgitate it. You will work hard in his classes, you will read much, and you will write essays and term papers. But you will also learn Sociology and gain the ability to express your own view on it.

I really don't understand why Dr. Weiner is rated so badly - the only thing I can think of is that those students are used to having professors handfeed the class to them. Dr. Weiner is AWESOME, and his classes are so interesting, partly because is he so enthusiastic because he cares a lot. Stop dumping on him, there's no valid reason for it.

If Dr. Weiner is your advisor, run... haha. No seriously, run. He has completely screwed up my schedule, my roommate's schedule, and a hand full of honors student's schedules. Definitely has a talent in giving lectures. You may just sit there & listen, but he's good at making it interesting. He's willing to help if you're willing to ask questions. Good sense of humor. I think he teaches the material well, but requires a lot from you. This is to be expected, honestly it's college. Deal with it.

He is hilarious. He's also very blunt and is not afraid to give his opinion. He basically teaches the fundamentals but then on tests and in class asks you to apply them to real life so you can understand it. Its really not that hard at all. All you have to do is pay attention and participate and you will do fine with him.

Dr Weiner is an excellent professor. He's great at what he does, period. Take classes with him, don't be afriad. You will do well and you will become a better student afterwards.
