Norman Land is a great Art History Professor. I had him for 17th Century italian art (baroque) and part of western art 2. If you like art history, you will love him. It may be a little difficult, however if you arent that familiar w/ art history. His passion for the subject shows. I suggest baroque, and not western art though.

You better be interested in art history otherwise you're screwed. Sit in the front otherwise you cannot understand him and he can't understand you. Hopefully you have a good memory as well otherwise drop it. If you have all of those things then go ahead and take his class.

Great teacher! Made me decide to become an art history major. He is extremely knowledgeable on his area of expertise and I find him to be hilarious. His classes require lots of memorization, so if you don't have a good memory, don't take his classes.

really nice man... tries hard to crack jokes - just laugh, he'll love you for it. memorization is key - doesn't require a lot of effort if you just take the time to do the readings and memorizing

Professor Land is a decent guy. He tries to make jokes sometimes, but many arent that funny. His lectures are ok, but i find art history to be boring. I hated the tests because you get 60sec per slide ID and little time to do the essays. overall, hes a decent teacher.

He is a pretty cool/funny teacher. It is hard to pay attention in his class but you don't always have to go. And sit in the back if you plan on leaving in the middle of his lecture. But overall he is a pretty awesome teacher.
