He looked down on the students and expected them to learn by themselves. I understand that viewpoint but if we are supposed to do everything by ourselves his position is unnecessary. The tests are multiple choice with more than one possible correct answer but he doesn't recognize it. Would not take again. 1 star.

Bancroft was awesome! Anyone who didn't appreciate him was either unable to think for themselves or overly sensitive. One of the best professors I've ever had.

Professor Bancroft proudly boasts that he is a professor, as opposed to a teacher. He professes... he does not teach. He is a very militaristic instructor. His philosophy in class is openly 'open choice'. You choose how much you learn. We had to form a study group and learn. He is no help. He gives only his opinions in class. Avoid this prof if pos

This class and professor are terrible! AVOID!! Do yourself a favor, don't take this class. Prof is condescending and rude. Talks down to students. When asked for clarification, he refered us to an intro psych text or to his cryptic notes. Doesn't care if anyone LEARNS anything. Doesn't follow syllabus.

Very helpful class for psychology majors. Bancroft ties the application of psychology in really well. Not recommended for non psych majors. main complaint: doesn't stick to syllabus! Changes dates so you must attend! Not as hard as people say tho, alot easier than most science prof's. Really funny & entertaining class. Does take work though.

I struggled through his class. When I asked him for additional help, he told me to study harder. He talks down to students and treats them poorly. He has said in the past, "I am a professor, not a teacher, it's my job to profess, not to teach. Students should be the ones worried about learning" Avoid him at all costs.

Highly intellegent, paints notes on the board like Jackson Pollock and if your not interested, or not paying attention "YOU'LL MISS KEY POINTS". Which of course IS the point. If your not looking to be challenged to measure your own potential, and going to whine if you need to improve; Then don't waste his time or yours. Flip hambugars. "Perception"

Dr. Bancroft is very entertaining in class, you will not get bored. His tests are incredibly difficult and if you are looking for an easy A take a miss. You will learn quite a bit or fail the class. This is the first B I have received in three years of college.

Dr. Bancroft is definitely the strangest teacher I've ever had. He's definitely a tough guy to follow -- he goes on a lot of tangents. His tests weren't consistent in terms of format. It was always a suprise whether you would have multiple choice or just one essay question for the entire test! I don't recommend him.

Professor employees teaching methods founded on sound philosophy. He was an inspiring teacher that actually seemed to genuinely care about doing what was right and not what would make students happiest. If every teacher took teaching as seriously as Dr. Bancroft the university would be much better respected.

I ended up dropping the class after two weeks. Dr. Bancroft was not very helpful at all. He used humiliation tactics to try to motivate his classes. His lessons were confusing and I really don't appreciate being made fun of.

Very disappointing. He talked down to students, he was not open to differing opinions, he wouldn't talk about his tests or discuss his decisions with his students. He is difficult, misleading about test content, discriminates against students of certain majors, religions, etc. I dropped his class after being treated with particular disrespect.

He knows so much information and can therefore see the big picture and where he's going, but has a hard time making sense to those who are trying to learn the material. Most of the time you have no idea what the hell he's talking about, his grading is tough, and he has a hard time seeing he could possibly be wrong. Highfilutin Bancroft ideology!

Only had him for a few days until I dropped the class, thus my words can only have so much merit. He will make you work hard, and you'll probably learn the material well, nonetheless he said very strange things about mormons and himself. He bousted about how many people drop his class. Strange man.
