She is a nice person, but NOT a good professor. She was very disorganized and confused multiple different groups for the presentations. Her grading criteria is very confusing and this was NOT a conversation class. The students hardly ever talked, she talked for almost the entire time. My spanish did NOT improve at all.

Make sure to read the lectures. The class are just discussions of the texts. There's one partner project; the midterm and final are both in class essays. She's a bit disorganized sometimes but otherwise is a sweet lady.

She's a kind human, awful professor. She doesn't listen to students, just repeats her opinion on the content. She typically grades based on whether or not you agree with her opinion on a film and the films assigned in class are almost all only available at the LLRC in Crown... if she doesn't take the copy first.

Olympia could be a great professor if she left room for her students to interpret the stories on their own. She also tells students that they are wrong and she never learns peoples names up to the point that she calls people the wrong name and just laughs about it. The class is easy if you read the book. Attainable A the class is just boring

If your opinion does not match with her own she takes off points. You have to watch 2 movies per week, it should be only one. TopHat quizzes every day that are often impossible to answer even if you watch the movie. No guidance, deadlines and expectations are completely unclear. Do not take.

Olympia is knowledgeable but not the most interesting lecturer. Surprised that there was little to no discussion in the class even though it focused on analyzing poetry. She's sweet, though, and willing to help if you have questions about exams/papers. Also bad at technology which is funny & somewhat endearing. Not the best, not the worst prof.

I've had 3 classes with her, unfortunately. No room for interpretation and so behind the times that she says things that are on the verge of offensive. Her teaching method is reading and lecturing from screen and hardly any discussion. She is so knowledgeable, but disorganized and rambles

Doesn't care to learn student names, reads out of the book all class, unclear grading criteria, calendar is incorrect. I could skip class every day and learn the same amount. Class is called conversation but you would never guess it.

Very helpful and enthusiastic about her class! She will help you if you are struggling and will explain the material until the whole class gets it. She can be really funny which makes the lessons more bearable. Take her and you will learn a lot.

This was the worst Spanish class I have taken at Loyola. The material was tough, but her nonsensical explanations and scatterbrains made it so much worse. She will say that she liked your paper, and then give you a B-. She grades with no logic. She will change what you have to do for the final the day of. She shouldn't work at Loyola.

Good: Very enthusiastic and always looking for fun things to show us. Any time someone raised their hand, she stopped and immediately took their question. Bad: She is EXTREMELY disorganized, deadlines and expectations are unclear. This was supposed to be a conversation class but she talked for 75% of the class time. I would avoid her.

Dr. González engaged our class and asked about our opinions. I was never bored because she is so funny and incorporates cultural knowledge in her lessons. She is always willing to help her students and stays after class to clarify any questions. Her expectations in class are very clear. Lovely woman and a brilliant professor. Take her!!

One of the most unclear professors I've ever had. Thoroughly disorganized and not helpful in office hours. Unclear deadlines and expectations throughout the entire class. Also not a very adept teacher of the lessons themselves. However frustrating she is in this way, she is definitely very funny and keeps the class lively and fun.

Advanced Spanish Grammar is, well, grammar. It's boring. But Dr. González makes it fun. She is brilliant! Her examples are hilarious! The assignments were long and not easy, but manageable! Mid-term, final, 5 longer Turn-It-In assignments, drilling-type homework for every chapter. She teaches the material in a way that it becomes 2nd nature to you.

I've had this woman for 4 diff. classes. She is helpful, we always discussed the book readings, so if you don't understand it shouldn't be a problem. I think she's a pretty funny woman, which can make class interesting even if you don't like the book. Quijote is fairly entertaining though, so it shouldn't be a problem. Midterm, final, one pres.

Summer Caribbean lit class. Shes a very nice woman and loves what she does and practically spends the whole time going through the readings. There were close to 6 books + short stories. there's 1 pres, 2 papers, take home final. Definitely easy B. Hard 'A'. Be sure to try to participate. She also will speak English outside o/class

This is the second semester I have had Gonzalez, and I always find her classes enjoyable. She recently started using iclicker, so you have to come to class to get points. Class is fairly easy and straightforward if you read and pay attention. I would definitely recommend Gonzalez's classes. Midterm, Final, two take home quizzes, and presentation.

I love Gonzalez! The material you read isn't the most interesting, but she is funny and nice, so going to class isn't all bad. Only a midterm and a final, a couple take home quizzes. Easy to get an A if you take good notes and basically just repeat what she says. If you don't understand, she really tries to explain things.
