I would not recommend this class, best adjective I can think of to describe this professor is lazy. Everyday we do the same things which include reading out of the $200 textbook and doing assignments in them with little explanation. The only way this class would be easy is if you love to study and read the book all day at home. Take home tests.

You might as well buy the Spanish book for yourself and get a tutor. He doesn't post when homework assignments are due. He goes way too fast for the class. The online homework doesn't tolerate mistakes, so its not about learning its about getting a perfect grade which makes people want to cheat. He doesn't review if students learned the last lesson

Lucca does not seem to care if his students are doing well. Every class was about reading straight out of the textbook, then go home. I could've just bought the book and learned without spending so much money on the credits. I average an A in my classes but I failed this class. I wish I had learned more than he taught.

Comment:

He pushes you to do your best and rewards the people who he sees making a genuine effort. Participate every chance you get. He sets up quizzes and exams to pass easily but he wants you to know the language. Do not miss any days, he covers important material every class period. You earn a deserving grade. Points off for minor detail.

His syllabus for our fall 2016 one is the same one he used in fall 2014. He doesn't seem to really care to answer your questions and makes you do the online component even though it's very unorganized. It's terrible knowing the cost of school to the quality of education you get these days.

Not a fan of his lecture style; very focused on grammar and NO conversations; doesn't post grades; class move fast, don't take if u didnt review you spanish from last quarter.

He's a very tough grader and expects you to know what's being taught in a snap. DO NOT TAKE if this is your first time taking a Spanish class or you haven't touched Spanish in a long time. He doesn't tell you your grade either. Has take home quizzes, pop quizzes and two finals for 101/102.

He doesn't seem like very dedicated to his job... After taking his class, all I can say is I'd rather learn Spanish at home by myself. His tests are not hard though, they all came from the textbook. He just doesn't make me "love" Spanish. Kinda disappointed.

I took his class in 2014 and it was tough. NO take home exams! I got 100% for exams average and still have to take final exam(even though he said students who got over 90 for exam average don't have to take final). He really tried to twist his syllabus! Definitely not an easy class for someone who has never taken any spanish course before.

I don't know what happened but this quarter Lucca seems to want all of his students to fail. He has tried to twist his syllabus specifically to cause some students to possibly fail the class due to not being able to show up for his tests. His tests are also no longer take-home and he is extremely rude (will question why you don't know the material)

loved Oswaldo. His class was fun & easy! He is so funny and really makes sure you understand the concepts before moving on. Exams are take home:) gives "surprise" quizzes that he tells you about the day before. Just don't talk when he's talking, don't be late and don't let the room go quiet when he asks a question. I would 100% take him again!

Spanish 3 Awesome teacher very nice, can be intimidating sometimes but I still highly reccommend. All take home tests, extra credit opportunities, homework is last minute do able, we go to the restaurant a lot and not a hard class at all. Genuinely cares for the students in his class this class will be a great memory for me.

His face is kinda scary :( plus he talks so fast. Gives take home tests so if you put your efforts it's kinda impossible to fail. He also talks a bit about the latino culture! We even went to eat burritos for extra credit. He is strict in grading and attendance, though.
