McLeod is a very intelligent contemporary philosopher and professor. He knows what he's talking about and he has had the most qualifying background in philosophy that one could dream for. He is super helpful if you just approach him in office hours and ask for help, he wants to look for students who are truly interested in the materials.

Incredibly difficult grader, but one of the most entertaining professors you'll have. He's brilliant and very in touch it seems. Dude doesn't seem to age at all, always going to look 30 years old.

You have to read most of the required material in order to understand the class. He was usually pretty funny and upbeat during lectures. Sometimes it was really hard to get the topic and the extra explanations didn't really do much help. Overall was a good professor, but the class was no easy A.

Great professor. He wants to help the kids who make an effort to participate and put effort into the class. The essays are very typical of a philosophy class. Make sure you know how to present and explain an argument when writing them.

So good that I HAD to take him again. Funny, engages with the students, and is helpful when you go to him. Don't make the mistake of not putting much effort in, or he will punish you. Be sure to stay up on the readings and go to him for help because the readings he gives you are incredibly dense and hard to understand.

Prior to taking his class I had already taken two philosophy classes. To survive in his class you MUST not only read but participate and ask questions in class. If you don't already understand the philosophic mind and writing style before taking the course, you will understand by the end. MacLeod is so much fun and likes talking in his office.

didn't think ethics was going to be as hard as it ended up being. really tough grader on papers and we only had two the entire semester. He's very smart and makes everyone laugh, esp. his groupies that take all his classes, I have a notebook full of his quotes because he says some really funny sh*t, awesome dude, but you need to be good at phil

modern - he clearly knows a lot about the material; this topic is his specialtiy in philosophy. But his understanding sometimes doesn't translate in teaching. he's easily distracted, but very bright and sometimes funny. demanding on papers. Overall a recommended professor for those that are willing to at least meet him halfway.

WHY IS EVERYONE SO INFATUATED WITH THIS MAN? He does not know how to teach, he picks favorites, is sketchy, and is not helpful when a student takes the time to approach him. People think he's brilliant, because he says things that make no sense in a matter of fact way, but when asked to explain, he laughs and so do all his groupies (for no reason

HORRIBLE professor...and person. Makes the finals optional, and when only one or two people show up, doesn't bother grading them. Not helpful during office hours.
