She loves anthropology and won't let you forget it. You have to go to class because it's part of your grade, but there's no need to pay attention.. At all. Basically read the book the night before one of the three tests and you'll be golden. You have to write 5 mini papers and one GIANT one based off of a different book you have to read separately.

Wasn't too excited going into this class, and was extremely nervous when I received the syllabus. She takes attendance which is 10% of your final grade, and only has 3 other grades through the semester: The midterm, final, and a long paper. Definitely had to teach myself most of the material. Loves what she does... but Anthro is not for me.

SO BORING! I tired so hard to pay attention, but it was impossible. It's not very clear what she wants us to know for the tests either. Read!

Very very boring. I am an anthro major and was looking forward to this class, but I have been very disappointed. She even makes talking about cannibalistic tribes boring. Definitely not comparable to most of the other professors in the anthro department. Too bad this class was required for my major and she was the only one teaching it.

Boring and monotone. And tends to be very picky about written response grades. It's like she has keywords she is looking for, and if you don't include them, you will get a bad grade on that paper. And the work load is atrocious.

fairly good professor. You use the textbook a lot, class really isn't mandatory. Just make sure you study the vocab and do the readings. Overall she really wants you to get an A in the class. Anything above an 89 is an A

Went into this class super excited, but I was so disappointed. Honestly how do you make a class on witchcraft so boring??? It was the most boring class I've ever taken in my life. Dr. Lerch is so sweet but she is so monotone and her lectures are impossible to follow - seriously.

I learned a lot from my two classes with Dr. Lerch. It is regrettable there are no other classes for me with her. I did my work as instructed, participated in class, and satisfied with my grades.

she's really nice, helpful and really understanding. her tests/papers aren't hard as long as u pay attention to her lectures, which may be a bit difficult since she's kind of monotone. but i'd still recommend her

Not the greatest class but if it's something you're interested in, you would probably like her because she's really passionate about what she talks about. Fairly boring classes, mostly just taking notes. Make sure you study for your midterms and final-it counts for a lot. The presentation isn't too bad to prepare for so you could get a good grade.

Dr. Lerch is the heart and soul of the Anthro dept. She cares about her students, is excited about the topic, and really knows what she's talking about. She is engaging in conversations, and while slightly eccentric, is one of the nicest people I've ever known.

Very Boring class. Her quizzes are very hard but essays are easy. Kinda pointless class...learned pretty much nothing. Just had students give presentations and read.

A semi-difficult class, but can be easy if you try. Midterms and final are very easy, you can generally BS all of your short answers and get an A. Unhelpful when handing back papers because she only hands back answer sheets and not the questions. Super boring also.

I cannot stand this woman! The class isn't that hard, but she is so annoying. And her lectures are not relevant at all. And the stupid debates she makes the class get into are pointless.

The driving force of both the Anthropology Department and Graduate Liberal Studies. Caring and concerned. Odd, dry sense of humor, but still overall great.
