I never used a cam b4 I took Prof. Carr's class at the Alexandria campus. Because of her teachings &my active participation, I rose to become 1 of her star students. She's specific about wht she expects from us in her daily lectures. When students missed 2 or more classes, they struggled to catch up. Digi. Cams were available for borrowing via NOVA

I wouldn't recommend her for beginners. If you are truly someone who want to learn about photography and is passionate about the subject, then please don't ruin the experience for yourself by taking her. She has poor judgement for final projects. People with the silliest pictures but good descriptions would get A. She focuses more on descriptions.

First, i'm sure she is a great person. But as a photography professor, she is so meticulous and boring. She truly expects so much from her students, even though some are not majoring in art or even done photography before. Her homework assignments are so excruciatingly long, for no reason. She expects her students to have a camera and hard drive.

She is mediocre at best. She fails to realize that not everyone in class in an art major. Class lecture is very boring and is unnecessarily long. Her assignments are very specific. She asks for photos and a description. I thought this class would be more fun and interactive but instead was uninterested and bored. Attendance is mandatory.

She is honestly the best professor I've ever had. She will work with you one on one if you don't understand something, she won't quit till you get it. If you're passionate about photography then this will be the easiest, most relaxed, & fun class you've ever taken. If you do the work, you'll get an A.

Page is extremely knowledgeable and insightful about photography, both the art AND technology of image-making. Textbook exercises are one small component of class, projects are the real focus and most valuable for putting technical knowledge to use as a photographer/designer/artist. Page's feedback regarding concept and execution is invaluable!!!!!

I took Video II And Night Photography with Page, and I had a wonderful experience. In Video, we worked a lot from the Apple Final Cut textbook. In Night Photography, no textbook, but we posted and discussed a lot on Flickr.

Overall she is knowledgeable and very polite but Sometimes the class was really confusing and boring. not very good at time management during the class sometimes wasting time on topics less important!

One of the most confusing teachers I have ever had. She contridicted herself many times and graded based on her mood. After going to her class I would have to re-learn most things from U-tube. I went into this class sincerely hopeing to learn something, an passed but instead experienced mostly frustration from lack of clarification in each class.

This class was just an extra for me because i wanted to learn how to work my new camera. I think i learned a lot! Even though she may a little awkward, if you ask her for help, she will help you. she used flickr for homework and left comments for grades. about 10 pictures are due every week. you dont need a nice camera to take this class.

i took two of her classes i did good in both she teaches a very easy class and her system for checking your work is flickr which works very well, but dont get behind its alot of work to catch up not that its hard. i don't think i learned too much new stuff but i defiantly tried new things to get better pictures.

Page is a very caring professor who spends a lot of time helping struggling students. Sometimes though, this is at the expense of the rest of the class. More organization would help. She knows her stuff, her tests are fair and her assignments can be fun. Anyone who takes her will learn a lot?just remember to take a lot of photos.

She's nice but you're better off just buying the book to teach yourself because thats all you'll end up doing. Each class session just has all the students following the instructions in the book, which is easy to do. All you have to do for a good grade is to turn these assignments in on time with accuracey to the book's instructions.
