Very helpfull!! Go to his office hours if you need help...he's good...the class is hard if you know nothing about computers (which in my case was true), but attend lectures and you'll be good.

All of the homework was pretty hard, but the lab TA's were really helpful (thank god for them, or I would fail this class) Midterm and Final will kill you. The average was about 19/50 for midterm and 27/50 for final. He curves the class, and surprisingly I got a solid B when I thought I would not pass. Nice guy, but the material is hard to learn.

He knows what he's talking about but no one else in the class does. I didn't really learn anything from him. I showed up the first day and he just starts writing programs and i was like wtf? Nice guy but doesn't really teach well.

He's passionate about Algorithms! Super nice & helpful. HW was very time consuming plus students with a lot of programming experience had major advantage (think twice EE's)! Mult/choice test questions were tricky & perilous. It was stressful, but interesting & I managed to pass with E.C. help.

Professor Chou has a Napolean Complex. For just 3 units, you work your butt off. Everytime I talked to him, he made me nervous because I always got the feeling that he was always examining me while I was talking. His class was tough and only used slides.

course designed for programmers with experience. definitly a hard course, but go to as many lab sessions as you can, the TA's are very helpful in lab. turn in whatever you have done for hw (i got full credit on some assignments i didnt finish).

Second time through this course. First time I was one of the slackers that got cut. Definatly do not procrastinate with this class, the material gets hard fast and there is alot of homework. Exams are very hard also. Good professor, just a hard class.

Although all of his notes are on slides and they are retrievable on the website, his notes aren't that helpful when you have to do the harder assignments. I think that he had to curve everyone's grade because if he didn't, less than half would've failed.
