I LOVE PAM JOHNSON. This is the third class I've taken with her. She gives fantastic lectures but she is a tough grader and expects you to produce top notch work. She's extremely caring and it's obvious that she's passionate about her work which is probably why she holds her class to such high expectations. As long as you pay attention, you'll pass

I love this woman. Her class is very project based and lecture heavy. Be prepared to drop $$$ on art supplies. A lot of homework but Pam is the best professor Forbes has and she truly cares about her students and the subjects she teaches. She has high expectations so be ready to meet them! Sometimes her instructions can be vague but she's worth it.

Pam is the sweetest! She loves her classes and her students and will help you succeed. Awesome class to take even if you're not a theatre major. Be ready to drop $50 on art supplies though. Seriously a great class to get creative in, and homework basically consists of painting which is such a nice break from reading for other classes. Loved it!

You have to work hard in her classes but it is completely worth it. I learned lots of useful and practical information. She is extremely knowledgeable about costumes and makeup; if you are interested in either of these areas take these classes with her. In fact, just take all of her classes, she's wonderful. Pam is queen.

Her class kind of killed my interest in theatre. She's got incredibly boring lectures and requires you to have two comments about the chapter she's going to lecture on for class. She doesn't forward you about planned quizzes, so keep your syllabus. I would say avoid her, unless you're incredibly enthusiastic on the subject.

Pam is an amazing professor. Her classes are intense, and they definitely require that you put in your full effort and attention, but doing so is incredibly rewarding. Pam is very understanding that people have different abilities and works to try to help everyone improve at their own level.

I love the theater and I thought I would love this class, but her lectures are pretty uninteresting. For her tests she gives you around 50 words to know the definitions of which is ridiculous. The class is just kind of a let down...

If you are not a theater major or theater fanatic, she hates you and you hate her. She picks favorites (the theater majors) and they love the class while all other majors who are just trying to fufil a gened are basically tortured. You have to read plays!Plays are meant to be watched not read. ts terrible.Dont take if you aren't a theater major!

Pam is the most well rounded and interesting professor I have ever had. She is so kind and so ready to help. I am disappointed to read that people are so frustrated with her classes. listen in class. stop being so lazy it is a theatre class. you have to go see plays... it is not that much to ask how do you expect to learn about theatre! grow up.

She was a really nice professor and I am glad I took the class even if the tests were hard (you actually had to READ the textbook). However, I really liked this class because you get a thorough behind the scenes look at the theatre and as a semester project you could work on one, write a play, or go see all of them. I saw them all and loved it. :)

one of the most miserable classes i've ever taken. makes at least one person feel like a moron every class. attendance is mandatory even though she never talks about what's on the tests, which are ridiculously hard. she takes points off for no reason. doesn't treat the class as a gened. DON'T TAKE unless you're ready to work really hard for a B/C

I liked theater in highschool and was really looking forward to taking some more of it in college but Dr. Johnson completely ruined that. I hate theater now. Her classes are boring 97% of the time. READ THE BOOK. When she gives lectures she just talks but only 10% of the information is relevant and show up on the tests. She is a very snappy lady.

First 2 weeks are fun. The rest of the semester is hell. Pam brings her overall bitterness towards life into the classroom. She is condescending and arrogant. She believes it is her right of passage to make her class impossible just to kill the stereotype that theatre is easy. If you enjoy aristocratic, yuppy, cold-hearted people enroll now!

Pam is rude, pretentious, mean-spirited, and will readily talk down to you if you do not understand what she is saying. She does not teach what is on the tests, and assigns many difficult projects at once. Do not take this class unless you are willing to sacrifice time for other classes and money on supplies that are hardly used.

I had Pam for Intro to Theatre and Makeup about 10 years ago, and she is awesome! One of the best professors I had at JMU! She is extremely knowledgeable and she also really cares about her students. Great professor! Stage Makeup class is a blast -- definitely take it if you get a chance to. :)
