Comment:

I had Parker for figure drawing back in 2001. I am now an art teacher myself of nine years, and I still use a lot of the things that she taught me. I think it's a little unfair to call her nuts / crazy. I remember her being very mellow and we listened to good music. She was very empathetic to students who were going through some hard times.

She's.. different. VERY nice woman, and I would say that I would only recommend her if your not a decent artist to start, she grades on improvement other then overall quality. Try not to take her on a Tues-Thurs class... it just gets long. Either way, bring an iPod and head phones, she allows them.

I tell all the freshmen not to take her. Just crazy. Don't listen to people who say she teaches, it's a lie. She's okay to talk to out of class. But she is arbitrary and hypocritical like they all said

I actually like Parker. Yes, she is crazy but it certainly wakes you up at 9am! She has gotten better within the past few years teaching wise. She is in class more often, tries to explain why things are supposed to be like this or that. Many many self portraits but besides that shes not bad. Very nice person. DONT take her advanced studios!

parker seems like a crazy interesting professor at first and may be cool outside of class to get to know. BUT her assignments were all unclear never gave grades back after handing in projs and we never actually worked on assignments in class. changes her mind A LOT and doesnt teach a thing. did not learn one valuable thing in her class

Worst professor I have ever had. Never comes to class, doesn't teach and grades unfairly. I went through the grade appeal process with her...I was expecting an A...was given a D. SHE WILL SCREW YOU OVER. There is no consistency, no logic, no help when dealing with this woman. Don't be fooled by her enthusiasm...you WILL PAY FOR IT.

she is very enthusiastic, i like her energy, but i haven't learned anything i didn't already know from her, and that's what she's getting paid for...to help us reach goals. again, she's never there for the help, she wants us to ask questions, but doesn't answer them. she does change her opinion on our work every time she sees it, even if it hasn't changed, not very much constructive criticism.

Can't draw, can't teach, very moody, misses alot of class. Don't take this class unless you don't want to learn anything. She will not explain her grading system to you which leads me to believe it's very arbitrary. Halfway thru the semester I wanted to ask for my tuition back!Homework is hard!

Parker is not one of the greatest teachers at IUP. She doesnt teach you how to draw, but expects you to know what she is looking for. She always seems aloof. There are a lot of long assignments, and she doesnt care that you have other assignmetns to worry about other than hers. Her class is BORING!

I actually really liked Parker's class. She's a little crazy, but it made life interesting! She was a little close-minded about drawings b/c she likes things done her way, but overall, i benefited from her classes.
