I can't believe that there are bad ratings on here! Parker is the man. He makes class fun, and participates in discussion. He will challenge someone's idea if it doesn't make sense but have some humility, he is great and the work really isn't that hard.

Parker isn't a bad guy...his thoughts sometimes tend to get a little too deep to understand. I felt like the class was a bit above what a freshman should be expected to be. Attendance is definately not mandatory so that's a plus. Do your papers and participate in the debates and book talks and you will be fine.

many negative comments have been left. I am not a math major, nor english. I needed the class to fill Skill area 1 req. So from a neutral stance Parker was an awesome guy to have class with, we all laughed and worked in problem solving groups. Granted it isnt a cake walk but if you do the homework and listen it will be a class worth experiencing.

Professor English is a horrendous teacher. Not only is he extremely boring and incoherent, but he also lacks respect for his students. Avoid this teacher at ALL costs. I cannot tell you one thing that I learned from him last semester, it's like a blur. The one upside on this professor is that he's a very lenient grader!

ive taken parker for tons of honors classes and quite a few phil courses... he's the man. end of story. you can go to class once a month for all her cares, as long as you can do your papers and your debate. however, his classes are so interesting that its way worth it to show up and participate. take him!

English is a nice guy but I found the class (phil. of religion) difficult. It's an advanced class for a freshman. He's a hard grader on papers but he does offer help so take advantage of it! He'll pass you if he knows you're trying.

I had an extremely hard time understanding the material and he wasn't very helpful in helping me to learn it. DON'T torture yourself if Phil. is not your major. This class is more mathematical-if you don't get math, don't take this class. Nice guy, but thinks the material is easy. For some of us, it's not!

I thought this professor was not so bad. He was boring and sometimes you just wanna fall asleep in his class but overall he is a decent grader and a fair one. Easy class with about 3 papers, and lots of posting on internet, there is no need to go to class. But I didn't learn anything in this class most of the time people were just chatting. A nice teacher.
