Professor Bhachu is a very caring teacher, but she is not very clear. Her lectures are hard to follow, and her class focuses more on teaching globalization then the sociological theories of global cultures. Very disappointing for a sociology class.

Very bad at communication- gave me little idea of how I was doing in the class, and then slammed me with a poor grade. When I had asked for an extension on a paper, she sent me a immature response sounding like it came from an elementary school student.

She's super smart, so she can tell when you're not doing the work. I had a health emergency and things were going steeply downhill, and didn't get much leeway. You can get away with not reading once or twice, but other than that you'd better do it. And there's a lot of it. Lectures are a mix of really fascinating and putting you to sleep.

Professor Bhachu is a really sweet lady and she's definitely very smart and knows a lot about the world through her experiences, but the structure of this class seemed unorganized and outdated. She goes off on long tangents and we spent so much time talking about irrelevant things and she showed too many films during class

A very easy grader. Best advice would be to go to her after class and speak with her to get to know her on a personal level...that'll help you more in the class. She's a sweet professor with rich worldly experiences that often relate to class materials.

I got a good grade in this class, but I have NEVER met a professor so difficult to communicate with as Bhachu. I put A level work in my midterm paper and got a B+ on it. When I spoke with her after, she had no comments about what I could have done to improve my grade. Structure of the class was chaos. Terrible communicator, bad professor.

I have taken 3 classes with her and wish i could take more. She's very sweet and caring and wants to see her students succeed. Tea is good, discussion is mandatory, and visual aids such as youtube is high in use. All topics are interesting and readings could just be skimmed as long as you can write a summary.

Extremely intelligent and thoughtful. She's hilarious, great personality. A fun and interesting class that I look forward to. She provides awesome tea almost every class. Weekly summaries take some time, but it's worth it - no tests. I definitely recommend taking her :)

Bhachu is a sweetheart. She tends to ramble and go off on tangents but she definitely knows her stuff. Easy work load, but make sure you do the reading because it is a discussion course. Her class is usually interesting and worth attending. Plus, you get free tea!

Love her!! She really cares about her students and wants them to learn and participate. Brings tea for every class which is amazing thing to look forward to. Calls us her "little darlings". Addicted to teaching through Youtube videos which is pretty sweet.

Nicest professor ever. Brought tea & cookies to every class, and called students her "sweet friends"! Does get distracted and at times boring, but REALLY knows her stuff. I had no interest in global studies but she really made me appreciate it. Also, really easy grader!

very random, she gets distracted very easily but she is BRILLIANT. weekly summaries are easy, and big papers require a little more effort but it's not hard to tdo well on those either. not very strict with deadlines (weekly summaries are due before end of semester and you can skip 2).

Bhachu was a sweet, sweet woman. She'll defintely ramble, but dont ever doubt her knowledge or intelligence. Her format is simple: two papers and weekly responses. I had a great time being one of her "darlings"...thats what she calls her students.

VERY interesting woman, but her classes are kind of all over the place. She gets distracted very easily and don't even try to take notes. The weekly summaries aren't difficult and if you really put effort into the 2 BIG papers, you'll do fine. I plan on taking another class with her!
