Comment:
Dr. Felkins, is very unique in her approach. That's actually what I liked about her the most. Her exams are written, but if you are like me, I appreciate those types of tests versus multiple choice. She gives tons of feedback, but it makes you a much stronger when it comes to writing (especially for PR). She is very personable and amazing!

Comment:
Her teaching style is very confusing and she jumps around from one topic to another. Exams are all written, and she gives 2 pages of single-spaced questions and only uses about 10 on the exam. Ridiculous amount of writing, and you must be very specific and go by the book and what she says, no opinions welcome. She doesn't respect her students.

Email her everything you do for this class- down to every material update and revision. Book is only necessary for the take home tests and papers- the longer the paper the better the grade (was told this from a previous student and it saved me). Her class is extremely time consuming but if you suck up to her and implement all her ideas expect an A.

She's a terrible lecturer. Incredibly boring and the lectures rarely make sense. Tests are hard even with the study guides, but paper and projects are easier and seem to be graded more leniently. Takes FOREVER to return grades. 3 tests, 2 papers, partner project, final presentation, attendance & random assignments make up your grade.

She NEVER emails back, so if you have a question on assignments or a test, you need to figure it out yourself. The tests were not clear and she is a very hard grader. If my schedule would have let me take this class with another professor I definitely would have switched.

I agree with almost everyone already on here. Her tests are ridiculous and does not cover the material in the slightest. Her tests are essays and I only had 50 minutes to complete it. pretty much impossible to do well.

she is literally the worst professor at loyola. she's unhelpful, inarticulate, confused, condescending, and above all that you just don't learn anything. avoid her classes like the plague.

Tests are in blue books and you have to practically write a novel to get an A. She rambles on in class and makes no sense, repeating things over and over. Homework is a joke but really long. I do not recommend her.

What an absolute waste of my life. She makes no sense, explains nothing, punishes you if you don't skip classes to attend things she deems important, acts like you have no other classes and expects you to dedicate EVERY second (and I do mean every second) of your time on this class. NO structure and "quizzes" are blue book essay exams. AVOID HER!

She really is crazy. At the beginning of the semester I couldn't stand her. She made my blood boil each class. But once you leanr how she teachs and do EVERYTHING she says you'll do fine. study guides are insanely time consuming for only 3 questions to be on the "quiz" (blue book exam) Alot of writing is required. She acts like its your only class.

What a joke. Felkins never teaches!! She makes students read the chapters while she sits in the corner and criticizes every little mistake. She drags on about useless material. Her study guides are useless - she gives them to you the day before the test with between 50-70 questions and says "10 of them will be on the test tomorrow." DON'T TAKE HER!

"It's all about really going in and making those connections. Going back to those grassroots." Anyone who has taken her has heard this. Sometimes she was ok, but most of the time I couldn't stand her. She grades entirely too hard and expects you to dedicate and bend over backwards for her class- uh hello I have 4 others? She means well (sometimes).

Not only is she not qualified, she wastes your time like she owns it. Unorganized, generally unhelpful and "all-knowing" on topics that are beyond her comprehension. Overall, idiot: inconsistent grading, favors suckups (I'm proof) and disregards student feedback.

Course load was very heavy. Syllabus and course content was well organized. The reading load was extremely heavy and stressful, but the articles and text were good. I thought I learned a lot about Public Relations, as well as how to put together a professional PR campaign and how to work with and reach the media. Definitely a valuable course!

I wanted to be in PR before this class, and I still want to be. However, she is flighty and assumes a lot. For an introductory course not much is explained. Her grading seems to have no real rhyme or reason to it. If you get on her good side... you're golden.

She helped me realize my dreams of being an PR/ Event Coordinator could be a reality. She worked with me until I dropped. She never gives the top point value, in that if something is 30 pts..the closest one can get will be a 29. If you want it she is there to give help you achieve it. Many

Doesn't explain herself. Not helpful. Unorganized! Focuses too much on her own outside agendas, for example this year P.R. turned into World AIDS DAy class. Don't take her!
