She is good professor. Clarification is not good. Make sure you count your grade by yourself. Dont trust on her calculated grading. In terms of grading, she doesnt know how to do math (in short). And this is very common at PVCC, although as smart student, you should always calculate your grade from your side. Other than that, you are all set.

I'm an A student taking BIO 150 following a bio-chem refresher but am confused in this class! Prof. Franklin is nice but very disorganized. She's bright but this doesn't translate into teaching ability. She gets off topic, exams have mistakesare lost, and many students are afraid they'll fail through no fault of their own! The textbook is a must!

Often not prepared to teach. Many times just read slides and offered no additional information. Tests often had errors or included chapters that were not taught yet. Assignment many varied assignments concurrently that made for a lot of work that didn't support what she was currently teaching.

Instructor was not helpful in guiding students to reasonable conclusions or to making sense of labs. Labs were often very rushed and several labs were lumped together. Post lab reports were expected, but assignment questions were often not posted until several days after the labs were completed. Labs were not well organized or planned out.

If you pass this course, it is in spite of her. She complicates course material and has random deadlines that she never announces in class, only on blackboard. You would have better luck passing this class by sitting in an empty classroom.

I took the lecture online and the lab in person. She is very scatterbrained but tries to help the best she can. She got way behind on recording lectures. Her lab and lectures tests are very difficult. Overall, I had a frustrating but fruitful experience. I definitely feel like I learned a lot.

Patricia was always entertaining. If you want an A in lab take her. Make sure you study the lab handouts and guidelines on papers. I always had fun in class.

Challenging class, but not terribly difficult if you study the lab manual. All of test and quizzes come straight from her hand outs. There is a lot of writing in this course and a big part of your grade will be based on the final lab report. Prof. Franklin has a very unorthodox style that will frustrate type A students. Fun class overall.

Overall, the class seemed unorganized from the start. The lectures are not clear and you don't really learn anything. The postings on Blackboard seem all over the place. If I had to do it all over again, I would have taken it with another professor. However, if you are a self-learner you will do okay.

Ms. Franklin was one of my favorite teachers at PVCC. She is very kind, passionate about the subject she teaches, and always willing to help students. She is fair and wants to see students succeed. I highly would recommend her.

This teacher is so scatterbrained. She loses assignments, doesn't keep up with grading, and throws assignments at you literally at the last minute! Her lectures are ALL over the place.I feel that I learned very little this semester. If I had to take over again, I would definitely NOT take her.

No idea why everyone says she is bad at teaching. I remember her powerpoints being very coherent...and our class had to do all the assignments she gave out. She missed class twice. I learned a lot and discovered the field I'm interested in studying for graduate work thanks to her. The lab work was phenomenal, especially the mystery enterics one.

She is EXTREMELY USELESS at teaching. You teach yourself from her powerpoints and basically teach yourself how to do the labs because she is clearly very scattered 24/7. Was slow to grade things and typically lost them. She was not helpful when asking over emails, basically didnt even answer question. Take from someone else

She is nice, but incredibly disorganized - lost our lab reports, never gave anything back within a reasonable amount of time, and always late for class. If you are serious about microbiology take it with someone else. Easy grader.

Prof Franklin is super nice and definitely means well but I found her teaching style to be very scattered and hard to follow. The "good" news is that she tends to drop things by the end of the semester since she's slow to grade and gets overwhelmed. She clearly knows her stuff, I'm just not sure she teaches it all that well. That said she's fun.

Prof. Franklin is very nice as a person but very scattered and unorganized as a teacher. Grades were not posted in BlackBoard until the END of the sememester (so we did not know how we were doing in the class). Slow to grade papers, quizzes, tests. Missed alot of classes.

Easy class. I NEVER read the book and I never studied! She is really nice and hilarious with "Literally" and "...and I know yall have been reading the book" when we hadnt; easy on grading, tests and quizzes are easy too. Even though everything was easy i learned some and would recommend to anyone doing a program that requires this...i got an A+
