I do not understand why people keep bashing her. She no longer teaches at Pace, but she is the mathematics teacher in our school (Well, one of them), and she is a great teacher, despite all the complaints.

I would not recommend this professor. She is a very smart lady but is very unclear with explanations. Exams and quizzes are not too bad but most of the information I learned in highschool.. If you want to learn in a math class I would consider a different professor. Also she has a very strong accent that is sometimes difficult to understand.

Honestly nice lady, but she isn't a teacher. She comes in and writes on the board the whole time, never looking away from it. She knows what she's doing and is very smart but can't teach it to her students. So there's no point in this class. Have to learn everything on your own.

Took her without knowing about all these negative thoughts on her teaching skill. While she isn't very good at getting her students to understand the material, I received an A- without doing much work at all. She says class attendance is mandatory, but I missed several times.

Honestly everyone stop bashing this woman. Her accent is very hard to understand, but she is the sweetest person ever and is more than willing to help you out. I suck at math beyond belief, but I see her during her office hours. She's beyond easy you get cheat sheets for her tests. Read the textbook you'll be fine. You actually have to try to pass.

this is by far the hardest teacher ive ever had... that being said she might be the easiest grader ive ever seen... i missed the midterm for a friends funeral and she gave me a 0 and didnt let me retake it and i got a 59 on the final but somehow i got a B+ as a final grade

Took her last semester and the entire class met with Cicenia and complained. He sat in on several classes and witnessed firsthand this woman's bizarre behavior and poor teaching abilities. We were offered the option to take the class pass/fail instead of a letter grade. She fought this tooth and nail but we won in the end. I recommend the same.

The first day she started rambling on about terms we've never heard of and started solving problems on the board to herself. From the very first class I knew this woman was absolutely clueless when it comes to teaching. She speaks to the board, drones on sometimes for 20 minutes at a time without pausing to see if there is even an ounce of understanding in the class, and is often condescending when students ask questions. Someone needs to fire this woman already.

Dr. Giurgescu is a nice person, but a terrible teacher. If you aren't really great at math already, stay away. In fact, stay away anyway. She talks to the board the whole time, and moves along so fast your head will spin. Definitely don't take her if you actually really want to learn the material.

She is the sexiest calculus teacher in NY. Her deep understanding of calculus, and her sexy eastern block accent had me doing nothing in class but day dreaming about private tutoring sessions. She is a crappy teacher, but a lax grader. I suck, and wound up with a B+. Most people drop within the first week, hang in and get an easy grade.
