Take her. Little boring but she gets the point accross. Buy the book and read it; old editions work fine. No need to take notes because they are vague. Takes "extra credit" attendance when there are few people in class. Take D2L quizes and the practice ones and study those for the test. Overall a pretty easy class.

Good professor.. only need book for quizzes. will give extra credit on low attendance days since its not mandatory. has a lot of resources to study. notes are pointless (not detailed enough to study from).. study using D2L quizzes.

Dr. Hughes is really nice and tries to use many real world examples. Sometimes they are hard to follow, though. If you read the book before class they will make sense though. :) Study for exams and you will succeed.

Prof. Hughes makes econ. as interesting as possible. She knows the subject so well that I think she has trouble realizing that her students don't know everything like she does. Tests are written poorly. Front loads class so that the end is not as busy. Movies on Fridays- good end to the week. She is nice, would probably take a class by her again.

Not ideal. Take different professor. Multiple online quizes (weekly) that are 35Q long that aren't straight forward and harder tests, some mandatory fridays and if you have excused university absents she still wont let you make them up. Wouldn't take her again. don't let other ratings deceive you like it did me.

No need to take notes, I took a ton of notes which were never used. Get the study guide because that is what is going to help you the most on exams. Hard quizes and exams, I did above or about class average on the exams and still ended up with a C+. No or very little extra credit to help. I'd try a different professor next time.

She made a relatively boring subject of Public finance into a decent class by bring up examples that actually relevent to todays times. I wish that she spent more time explaining the equations in class but she wanted the students to understand why things are the way they are instead of telling you what quation gets you what result.

This is one of the best Econ teachers I have had. She gives you a slip that has what is on the test, follow that sheet and you will do very well in the class. Use it to go through the book and take notes. You watch movies which there are 9 that count which ends up equally a test. Take her if you are willing to go to class, she gives extra credit qu

pretty good prof. tests weren't hard and followed pretty well with the notes. her notes are alright, but if you read the chapters from the book it will help you understand them better. most fridays you watch a movie and fill out a worksheet to go along with it, which is easy. take her

Took as a night class- good deal! not too hard to sit through, sometimes I didn't pay any attention-and I passed easily. Be sure to make each class- its easier when its a night class- once a week, no big deal. She does have in class things worth points so its important.
