Dr. Huntington is wonderful. I plan on asking her to help me with my undergrad thesis. There isn't a single thing she wouldn't do for her students, all you have to do is talk to her like a human being. After all, professors aren't drones. She is very passionate and wise. If you get to know her she can be an extremely valuable resource for you.

Dr. Huntington is a very smart woman & she takes phil very seriously. There isn't a ton of work, you have to write a one page paper every once & a while, one 4 page paper that you present to the class with 3 other people (not as bad as it sounds she helps you out) & 3 tests (they're not easy but not bad) she has a great body for her age!!

She is a very sweet and understanding professor. Make sure you attend every class session b/c your attendance is recorded. Listen and take very good notes and you should do fine on the essay exams. It is kind of hard but if you understand then you shld have no problem on the tests. Grade is based on hmwrks and 3 exams. Can be boring at times

she knows what she's talking about. It is the area she is teaching that can confuse students that don't have much pre-existing knowledge. She is very worth it. A passionate woman.

A wonderfully intuitive professor who wants to teach and guide students, not behind the podium because she wants to feel important. Does not force ideas and opinions on students- helps them become the people they are. Lectures on intereseting and importa

I had to record every lecture...I couldn't follow her rants and constant repetitiveness. Tying everything together was challenging. The tests were not as hard as she made them out to be...but the papers threw me off!

I had Dr. Huntington about two years ago, while I was an undergrad student. I can say that she was the best professor that I had at Loyola. Yes, the class was challenging and required a lot of thinking, but isn't that the reason that all of us go to college anyway for? If you like a challenge and would like to learn something, take Dr. Huntington.

ive had her twice - whatever people say about her being a bad teacher is because they arent philosophy savvy, and want an easy A. she is a challange but extremely intelligent and helpful. she deserves to teach people who enjoy philo instead of being dissed by slackers

I didnt think she was that hard, but her lectures are so boring and she often repeats herself, but changes the words so that it sounds like something new when it's not. And she does randomly laugh a lot. Nice in person.

Concepts may be difficult to understand, but isn't that the point of a philosophy class? She is incredibly intelligent and helpful. Don't take her if you're looking for an easy class. She has a very high standard and I guess some students don't enjoy applying themselves.

honestly, it always sounds as if those who give the worst ratings on here are also the worst students (i.e. seem to use horrible vocab and mangled grammar). If you are looking for an incredibly intelligent and caring prof. take Dr. Huntington... if you have a brain she'll inspire you.

Very strange lady. No joke- she ends every statement with the same words/sounds. "RIGHT!?...yeah...[maniacal laugh]...[long pause]...[another maniacal laugh]". If you like philosophy the material is interesting but lectures are painfully boring.

she is horrible. She talks about one topic (usually something off topic) for atleast 30mins without saying anything. Attendance is manditory even though she doesn't say a thing. I would definately recommend a different professor....its not worth the agony of sitting through one of her classes.

She is horrible. She laughs at her oun jokes and no one really knows why. She talks way above her students heads. She teaches the class as if we were grad students. When in fact this was the first class in philosophy for most of us.

I had her as a grad student. She was the most caring, supportive professor I had at Loyola. I really learned a lot from her. Her personality can be idiosyncratic at times--but so what. I'd get back five pages of typed notes on my papers--all brilliant and useful. You'd be lucky to work with her

Dr. Huntington is a sweet, intelligent person, and she treats her students with respect. However, you won't do well if you expect the material to be spoon-fed to you. Her tests are very difficult, so you'll have to read everything at least a couple of times.
