This course was extremely frustrating both in and out of the class room. I had a very difficult time following her train of though in lecture and often was so lost I didn't even know what question to ask. Do yourself a favor and take this class with a different professor

She is funny but also can be super sassy. You learn most of the things from the textbook. She is nice and I didn't think it was that confusing. She does text you on specific meanings and specific theorems you should memorize.

She is the worst teacher. Do not take this class. I had never taken calculus, but I had taken precalculus and I did awful. She cannot teach and nothing she says in class makes sense. Very disorganized. The only people who passed had already taken calculus before. So many other people dropped the class and hardly anyone showed up.

Sipe does not teach you anything and when she actually decides to clarify what she meant she makes you more confused. She never gives clear assignments or due dates, and she will put problems on exams that you have not learned and then not fix her mistake til later. If you try to ask her a question she will give you a boat load of sass.

Sipe is actually the worst professor I've ever had. She makes calculus much more confusing than it should ever be, to the point where I only ever learned through Kahn Academy videos. She is convoluted, disorganized, and just plain rude when you ask questions. She frankly makes you feel stupid for not understanding her. Do NOT take a class with her!

Do not take a course with her, especially for MTH111. If your calc is rusty or it's your first time taking calc, then do not take it with her. She does not explain anything in class but expects you to learn everything from the textbook. She is extremely unclear, does not go over questions, and needs advice on teaching.

She's so terrible I'm speechless. I got a 5 in AP and took this for review, but she makes it unnecessarily convoluted. If she was at least nice..but no she's snippy when you ask her stuff. Her tests are crap, nothing to do with what we learned. if you're unlucky enough to get her, one advice: SUCK UP TO HER or she'll be flat out rude and unhelpful.

Without any doubt Patricia Sipe is not a gifted teacher, nor does she offer polished presentations in her classes, however she is extremely knowledgeable, probably the most knowledgeable person in the math department. Sometimes she tries to improvise in class and gets stuck, but I did like these moments since one had a chance to make suggestions.

The worst teacher I have ever had. She has to stop in the middle of lectures to think about what her notes say. She doesn't show up for office hours and is completely unhelpful answering questions anyway. Her tests are really hard and not representative of what we learned in class. Save yourself while you can.
