NOT A GPA BOOSTER! She's smart (great researcher!), gives you written questions to prepare for essay format answers, little time to complete exams (some MC questions did NOT come from lecture), final is all MC. No office hours. PROS: exams are non-cumulative and the health report is a huge grade booster if you follow her guidelines (average: 40/45)

I took it as an option and spent more time studying for this class than any of my other cores. Tough class but I learned a lot. Interesting material but get ready to study and work for your mark!

Terrible prof. Puts an unbelievable amount of content on slides which have little to no organization to them. Tells you the questions for the midterms but they're still hard. Not very respectful to students and embarrasses people in front of the whole class. Class should be called cholesterol and heart disease since thats all you learn about

Does not understand the slides at all. Just reads off of them word for word. When asked a question, just confused you even more. Better to just look at take notes off the powerpoints on your own time. Midterm was pretty easy if you just review the slides and MEMORIZE everything.

These ratings do not do Tish any justice. She's one of the smartest persons I've ever met, she's got a GREAT sense of humour, and although her tests are hard she helps you prepare for them!! The big paper is an easy 95 if you stick to the rubric, and you learn a LOT about yourself in this class. I would love to see KNES433 be a requirement for kns

No text which is nice. MC q's on exams are really tricky and detailed, but short answers are easy. 15 page health report worth 30% is a huge grade booster if you follow the outline exactly. Possible to get an A, but you really have to know your stuff.

Dr. Baker is by far the most unintelligent and unprofessional professor I have ever been taught by during my degree. She took straight forward Knes433 and Knes493 material and convoluted it beyond understanding. Avoid her classes at all costs. The best part of this class was writing up the USRI evaluation on her, by far.

slides are very inconsistent and confusing....they have been copied and pasted from the internet (lipidsonline.org)not very knowledgeable about info. if you'd like to learn about lipids, check it out online yourself.

Pretty rediculous class. Interesting and useful at first, and then she gets in too deep and confuses people; ambiguous as to what she really wants you to know. After midterm information and slides get rediculous...too much writing...she could simplify but doesn't. Not very approachable, close-minded.

Took both 433 & 493 from her. Inconsistent...could be really nice some days and mean on other days. Overall inconsistent. I really enjoyed the material in the class.

i found her to be a horrible prof. she was always incredibly unapproachable, and was not helpful at all. it was a terrible class set up to begin with, but she made it 10x worse!!

It was more than 10 years ago but I always found her helpful, both academically and personally. She introduced me to running and, although it took a bit for me to fall in love with it, I'm hooked now. Eight years and a marathon later, I'm grateful.
