I won't forget the day; we had an exam, but she didn't specify what type of exam. On the day of, we found out it was a scantron. She called the whole class DUMB for for the few that forgot pencils. She insulted us the entire class period for her DUMB mistake.

It was without a doubt the worst class I have taken at UMASS. Truly regret taking class, b/c, she took a fun subject & made it as boring, drawn out, and hard as possible. It does satisfy a Gen-Ed, hence taking it, but if you need an History gen ed stay away, unless there is a new professor. For some

She is one of the hardest teachers i have had in 3 yrs. I have never worked so hard for something so stupid. It is not worth taking this class if you just need a Gen ed. She is unclear of what is on the test but does have a small scale. NO need for the book. Expects too much for a 100 level class.

She can be (unintentionally) rude at times, but I never got the feeling she was trying to humiliate anyone. The parts of the course that focus on socio-political meaning of costume were the best. However, don't bother buying the textbook. Really.

She is very knowledgeable and the class is really interesting. Sometimes the tests are more specific than the lectures. But it's still worth it because the class is fascinating and touches on the social and global context of historical costume.

Nice enough woman if you get to know her, but horrible teacher. She is so unclear, then she tests you on super details so you fail the tests. I have a 3.89 GPA and a B/C in her class right now.

this is the second class i took with warner and she is a really nice woman if you talk to her after class and she knows a ton about fashion etc.
