Comment:

If you get this teacher he will tell you straight up you won't pass on the first day. Also he will not have faith in you until the very end. He wants a problem done exactly the way he did it and a lot of homework is given. Study hard and do the homework! (Not a good sign if you see a full class and suddenly less people are showing up!)

He grades harsh and he has a weird way of teaching. He Is very petty with exam and showing work. There are a few time where he gives pop quizzes . Good-luck

Mr. Frey was extremely helpful and always accessible when needed. He provides clear and quick feedback and cares about how students perform in his class. He makes sure students are able to understand the lessons before showing examples.

This is the WORST professor I have ever had. Stay away! He begins to explain a lesson and gets off topic during the whole time. He does a lot of the math in his head and doesn't explain. But, I will say he is accessible outside of class so if you ever need help he's more than happy to do that. MLP s is an awesome tool to help you learn.

Comment:

Frey gets a bad wrap but he truly is just like any other math professor you are going to have. There are 4 exams and 8 quizzes, his grading can be tough but as he would tell you himself he gives a lot of partial credit for notation. Overall, he is not terrible and not great just in the middle.

I am not a fan of his teaching. He talks extremely FAST and skips over parts of the notes that you actually need for tests. He knows his math, but he does not do a good job with teaching it to other students. Try to go for another teacher, but if you get him then good luck. You will be confused and you will spend a lot of time getting extra help.

I took this class without seeing the reviews, which I heavily regret. He is not a horrible teacher, he could just be a lot better. He will call you out for petty things like going to the bathroom and he hates seeing people on their phone. Do your MLP, do the work exactly how he wants it, talk to him after class, and show up. And yes, you WILL cry.

Warning!! Over half of my class dropped before the last withdrawal date. He is good at math bad at explaining it. He tells you what you should know and does not explain it well. Avoid at all costs!

Prof Frey was super condescending and was never helpful. His class was terrible and he was SUCH a tough grader. Avoid at all costs; his ego is huge as well. The worst professor I've had in 3 years of undergrad.

Professor Frey really values in-class participation. However, he doesn't call people out. His tests and quizzes were difficult but he gives plenty of extra credit! Take advantage of extra credit opportunities, and don't leave any points on the table! From my experience, you will need all the points you can get! Take good notes too.

Frey is a very hard teacher to get a good grade in his class. He grades heavily and when you see his comments they make you feel dumb. If you don't do the work how he wants it done then he counts it wrong even if you come to have the correct answer. He also gives quizes before and after a class that count as your attendance.

Mr Frey was a great teacher and was willing to help any day and pretty much at any time as well. Many students complained of his teaching, however if you just simply get a little ahead before class that day, the entire lecture will all make sense and seem easy. You must be willing to put in the time in class(quiz everyday) and outside of class.

Great he really wants you to learn but he has rules just like any other teacher. His quizzes are fairly easy and he practically give you the answers. He offers a nice amount of extra credit and lots of help.

This teacher is great, he just has rules like any other teacher. Go to class because he does give points for being there. His quizzes everyday were fairly easy but he got lenient at the end and did group quizzes and practically gave us the answers. The exams were okay and he gave extra points on those too. He actually wants you to learn.

This professor is terrible! He does not care if a family member is ill and you have to miss class. He will put you and groups and make you do quizzes together (which is fine) but there are 8+ groups in my class and he will only grade 3 of the groups and that is the score everyone will receive. This professor is awful, do whatever you can to advoid

Frey is not for everyone but if you're trying to build a good foundation for future math he provides everything you'll need. He's a tough grader, he's rude to students, but he gives you what you need and gives extra credit (10% of your grade is extra credit before the bonus credit). Attendance turns to points. Don't miss more than 2 classes!

Prof. Frey is terrible!!!! If he is your only option, drop it and take the class at Ivy Tech. Prof. Frey is rude and does not help you learn the material. Not only that, if you get the right answer on his test, but don't do the problem his way, he will take off points. I barely got an A, and this is after I had already taken it at Ivy Tech!

Knows his material, sucks at being able to explain it. Don't even bother with getting the book, his notes will be enough. Very condescending when asked a question, & goes on more tangents than should be allowed (causing more confusion). HARD PASS on this professor. Take anyone BUT him!
