Comment:
think there are too much materials in this course for one semester. Basically all topics related to sampling and beyond , need their own separate course. Lecture notes help alot , but sometimes they are not coherently written. I had to read other books and recources which it took significant time. Exam prepration needs so much time to practice.

Professor Kelly is such a nice guy, but the lectures don't always line up well with the homework or exams. I don't learn from lecture. I've sourced almost all topics elsewhere. Homework is beyond what is taught in lecture, period. Expect equally difficult exam questions. The quizzes serve no known purpose. Examples like the homework would help.

He makes 313 look easy, until you take the tests and realize that what you are being tested on is multiple orders of magnitude harder than what he has been going over in lecture. The entire class is usually in a mass state of confusion about the material.

Professor Kelly is one those guys who has a really good experience on teaching in an empty classroom with no student . Just leave him by him self there . It would not make any difference towards your learning. If there is no good text book for any class taking with him , you are screwed.

Awful experience, he stumbles through lectures and then he "teaches" us material in the homework question, making for absolute confusion and complete lack of knowledge in the subject.

Comment:
While Professor Kelly is a nice person, he discussions are usually not helpful at all. Mostly he just sums up what we've done in lecture in the week with no new insight or clarity added. Very little practice problems are done during the discussion. The only reason why most people attend the lectures is because there's an attendance check.

So out of the three professors in Engin112 Kelly is often describe as being the most difficult. His material, signal processing + medical imaging, is the most extensive of all other modules. So although many blame Kelly for his material being hard, it is the material. His problems are always the most challenging by nature. Beware of his test Qs.

Comment:
Kelly teachers some of the most difficult material in the course so his homework is the most challenging out of the three ENGIN112 professors and his test problems are also challenging. If you following his module summaries, you can succeed on the tests. His slides are terrible walls of text as well, but he is good at explaining stuff orally.

A good professor. You will write 3-5 pages of notes per lecture (for a Tu/Thurs). His notes are very complete..a little too complete. If you miss one lecture, you will miss a lot of notes. It's kind of dull for a Tu/Th but if you can pay attention and do all the homework, you will get an A.
