This is the second upper level class I have taken with Patrizia (the other was Italian 363) but both focused on Italian literature and culture. Dr. Bettella is a kind and approachable professor with a wealth of knowledge; many of her lectures contain fascinating insights and perspectives into the texts and history. Definite recommendation

She is super nice and the class is an easy A if you show up. But prepare for 2+ homework assignments every week, oral and written midterm and finals, pop quizzes and 2 tests. She doesn't always understand what students are asking.

Bettella is an amazing prof! Learning a second language is difficult but she does such a good job! She gives you a lot of opportunities to work with the language and is an easy grader (which is nice because otherwise it would be a very discouraging class). Definitely a class where a little effort goes a long way!

Such an amazing prof! Dr. Bettella is so kind and funny and makes learning Italian fun and much less stressful than I have found in the past. She is very focussed on the culture which I found helps in general understanding context. Super easy and understanding marker as well. Cannot recommend her enough!

Dr. Bettella is RAD. Italian is a pretty confusing language, but she never makes anyone feel stupid in her class. And she's a pretty easy marker. I would absolutely recommend her class! She's organized and very knowledgeable. She cares a lot about her students and the class and it shows. Take this class. Again, EASY MARKER.

Fantastic professor! Patrizia focused a lot on spoken and written Italian, so I definitely had quite a bit of knowledge going into 112. Beware that she's not the most social, but if you need help, she's definitely there for you

Prof. Bettella was awesome. I enjoyed every class. we did many cultural activities. I loved to learn about festivals and food and carneval and I was so excited to learn about Dante and the old Italian language. I recommend this instructors

Didn't like this prof. She gives way too much homework, she doesn't really go over grammar but that's mostly what she tests on. Doesn't give nearly enough time to do in class exercises but then when she calls on you, she doesn't understand why you don't know the answer. Definitely has favorites! Wouldn't recommend her.

Patrizia really wants her students to succeed. Although her classes get very boring, especially towards the end of 212, she incorporates different activities and tries to make class interesting. She really encourages class discussion/participation, which is key to learning a new language! If you display effort, you will be rewarded.

Not a great prof,she doesnt like to go over grammar so study as much as you can on your own or she will bite you in the butt for it.
