With his retiring AR has lost one of the best instructors the school has ever had. His obvious enthusiasm for his job and his students, his knowledge of his subject, made having him as a teacher a very pleasurable experience. You learned a lot with him as your teacher! I've read those posts about that ACT thing, obviously someone else's fault. Hoot

I wish he wasn't retiring!!! Last semester Sp. '09 :( I enjoyed his class, he made me think of changing my major to psych. (possibly). If only I could take more of his classes. I hope to see you around Dr. Brown!

I had him for his last semester at ARC he is a very good teacher. he has ways for everyone to learn. no matter how you learn you will learn something in his class... he has his life examples for every thing.he has you sign the roll 5 times but they are random days that he passes roll worth 100 pts

Looks like this will be Brown's last semester. That being said, it was a pleasure having him as a prof. He is set in his ideas, and can be a bit slow, but he is interested in his students, and enjoys the subject.

I really enjoyed his class... he explained through examples.. it was not only entertaining, but I was mesmerized by what he had to say. He has three exams and no quizzes and only one BIG assignment... I would recommend his class to anyone!!!!

Mirroring the earlier ACT comment, this teacher, by denying that an ACT test was given in January, 1989 (when he could easily have validated it) not only has damaged education and student's lives, but has actually caused such havoc in the legal world that things might never be made right. Brown has no business teaching at AR or anywhere. Fire him!

Anyone that has anything to say regarding this teacher other than the fact that he is great is obviously an idiot! He is what all teachers should be like. He treats you like a person and not just another number in his class. If you get anything less than an A than I feel sorry for you!!

His attendace policy mirrors the principles he teaches. Go to class. Nice combination of real world examples of the principles being learned. This school so you will have to study, but with that said his test are straight forward. Take any of his classes and go be a sponge. I don't think he is going to teach much longer .. don't wait.

Brown was the contact person about the ACT test that was given in '89 when another assessment test was scheduled (on a weekday). As AR deletes scores after one year, no record is left and Brown says that it never happened. It did, it happened in Raef Hall, and Brown either lied or didn't research the question. Terribly inappropriate, awful man!

I highly recommend Dr. Brown to every single student who wants to get a good grade, learn about the psychology as well as have fun and listen to his entertaining and funny stories. I think he is what the typical college professor should be like in his/her teaching style.The best you can find from the pscyhology department at AR

This clase was very uncomfortable for me to take. Was a little too focused on sex. Won't ever forget the 'pornography' lecture. A lot of life stories, and old movies. I did learn a lot over all, at the same time, there was a lot that I just left behind.

I would have to disagree with most the positive comments. I think he talked too much about himself and his "perfect" family. I didnt learn anything that I didnt already know. He tests are extremely long(but multiple choice+)He also brings his own religion into play, which I think is very unprofessional!

I loved this class. I learned a lot and Dr. Brown will bring up topics that will make you think. Gives examples from his life. I have to agree about the notes he reads from. I think he has had them since the 60's. Go to lecture, read chpt. summaries-easy B.
