I have Dr. Carter for Survey of Music Theory I and it's by far my favorite class and he's the best teacher for it. At first I was so nervous about the class but after going to him for help I've done really well. Don't be afraid to go to him because he'll help you out so much.

Carter was a nice guy.He did cancel numerous times but did a great job teaching to his best while there.Some of the materiel was harder to grasp but you do need to learn it in order to keep up with the class & lab work.Most tunes we looked at were 80s and older.Carter makes Survey of Theory interesting, and I'm guessing more so than Music Theory!
