Comment:

He is a good guy/professor. He grades the homework easy and the papers/tests hard. overall I would say if you have the option to take a class with him it's recommended. He keeps class interesting and his grading is predictable. All around not a tough class but of course, it is a capstone so you will be expected to produce.

You will write a lot in this class! -total of 16 pages. quizzes every week too and his tests are were a bit difficult for me and I am an A student. Overall I enjoyed his class and found it challenging, but I actually felt I was learning something and it was interesting material. He uses powerpoint, so take notes and read the chapter before quizzes.

He's one of those, "You get the grade you earn" people. You have to be willing to go above and beyond and work hard in order to get even an A-. As long as you do what he asks of you, you will do well in the class. If it is an opinion paper, write what he wants to hear and write on the harder topic, he WILL grade you easier.

This class was ok and interesting, however be prepared to talk almost all the time. I did all my assignments and quizzes on time but rarely talked and he gave me and many other people a 65% for participation which I thought was very unfair

Took the class online. He is super helpful and answers Emails pretty quickly. Lots of reading but if you do the reading the tests are very easy. Posts the lecture on Moodel, listen anytime, super convenient.

Took this class online. Super helpful, answers Emails pretty quickly. Lots of reading is involved but if you do the reading the tests are easy. The lectures are posted on moodel and he uses PowerPoint, so easy to listen to and convenient. Wish Oakland offered more courses like this.

He is extremely harsh in his grading. This was a 100-LEVEL class, not a master's class. I thought the point of a class was to learn, and how could I, when all he did was offer harsh grades? Very hard to understand directions and expects way too much out of students. AGAIN, its a 100-LEVEL class.

I learned A LOT from his class, but his grading is annoying: he expects graduate level research papers, gives unclear expectations, then finds ways to take away points. I got a 3.4 in his class so i didn't do poorly, but i felt my learning didn't reflect my grade. Overall i would recommend him :)

He's a very nice professor and does know what he's talking about. However, I did attend class religiously and I did put a lot of effort into the class and still got a 3.0. When I approached him about it he said "I'm sorry you feel that way". I can understand if I slacked off, but I didn't. I don't recommend him.

Terrible Prof. A lot of people seem to like him, but if you want to be more involved in the class/subject and actually speak with him you will see he's very pompous and does not fit the goofy, nice Prof persona he puts out. He is very unhelpful and self absorbed.

I take Model United Nations with Kubicek, and I'm hoping to take other classes with him in the future. He knows what he's talking about, and he is very enthusiastic. He's not easy - you need to attend class and do the work to succeed, but he is always available to help. If you work hard, you will do very well in his classes. He's a great guy, too.

I loved Prof. Kubicek. I think he is one of the best professors I have ever had and I am on my third degree. I loved his lectures and was never bored. I took him for three classes and would take more if i could.

Ok, so I'll keep it brief but 100% honest. I've never met the guy in person, but I had to drop his online course because it requires absolutely so much time and detail... I almost feel like attending campus for this course might be slightly eaier because he requires so much work to be completed on his online courses! I hope that helps your decision

He's really a great professor. I know some kids in my class had issues with him, but that's just because he demands respect and they weren't showing any. The class wasn't all that hard. If you know anything about international politics you'll do fine. If you don't know a lot about the topic, then read the book. I'd recommend him to anyone.

This was the absolute worst teacher I have ever had. He doesn't come close to the knowledge level of the other Profs and he just rambles the entire class. He keeps you the entire time even if there is nothing to talk about. This class was very easy, just be prepared to write a few papers. I would not recommend this Prof to anyone.
