Really the worst professor I've had the displeasure of taking a class in throughout my college career. Never kept with the syllabus schedule, would get behind schedule and take tests on random days, completed the second edition of his textbook a month before class ended and forced us all to buy it, no blackboard, dont take this fogeys class.

Show up to class and youll be fine. Two page essay every Friday and three take home essays. Towards the end of semester you need to but his book $80-90, I wouldnt recommend because its just a collection of sources that are copied and pasted. Instead you could search the chapter name online and boom the article shows up.

There are 3-4 readings before each class each at 10-22 pages! 2 page writing assignment every friday IN CLASS! Exams are 2 essays on 2 green book! Unnecessary amounts of work. 10 questions multiple choice quizzes would have suffice.

The grading scale is practically nonexistent/ at his whim. Should be a writing intensive, the reading and writing is unbelievably intense. Seriously needs to revise his course. Some readings are interesting but too many to retain any information. Thank god in class writings are open book. Do not take if you can't afford the $150 worth of texts.

Taking Professor Lopez this semester and he not that bad. As long as you attend class and do all of your work you will pass this class. This class requires you to READ! You will have a writing assignment every week in class/open book. Midterm/Final exams are take home writing assignments. Highly recommend taking this class!

One of the worst professors at Chico. His teaching is not good at all. I don't know if his divorce or old age is what is affecting his teaching or not. One thing is clear he needs to retire

Long paper!! He is not there for you when you are stuck or need clarity!! His grading scale is better for a Credit -no-Credit class. His scale: Pass, barley pass, not pass. How can anyone even measure this? He does not respond in time for your deadline of papers you are working on.

Show up to class take notes of the powerpoints, they're pretty straightforward. He does not put the powerpoints online. Notes are usually what the in-class writing assignment is going to be about. Not that tough of a grader on papers as he maks it seem.

This class is a disaster. Professor Lopez has missed more classes than he has held. He is unorganized and does not always respond to e-mails. The "exams" are two 5 page papers. This class should be a Latino studies class as that is what makes up the bulk of the reading. Speaking of reading, there is A LOT of it. Don't expect hw to be graded fast.

He's unorganized, flaky, condescending, and clearly does not want to be teaching online students. Books are expensive, the packet is a must, his book, not so much. If you're stuck with it, the class itself isn't so bad and you'll probably come out with a good grade because the material isn't that difficult, it's Prof Lopez that is difficult. AVOID

WORST TEACHER EVER! He literally made us write 14 papers this semester, and its not even an intensive writing class. You must read the chapters ahead of time for the many in class essays, if you dont he will fail you. He gives no help hints on what he expects on assignments and you always leave frustrated. He hates teaching this class

Paul Lopez's MCGS 155 was pretty easy. I got a B without really trying. He urges you to buy his book and packet which are really pricey so just split with someone. He is very boring but he counts attendance and docks your grade when you miss (but there are ways around this) Tests are really cool because they are all take home, even your final!

The assignments aren't hard, but he's not clear about what is required, due dates, or how you will be graded. He misses class a lot, but docks 1 letter grade for missing more than 3. He is often unprepared. The class is supposed to be about different ethnicities, about 8/16 weeks focus was on Mexican-Americans. White, black, Asian each get 1 week.

DO NOT BUY THE PACKET! spent $80 for nothing. never used it. the book that he "wrote" has the most typos ever! only used it for the final. class is boring, super long powerpoint notes. you can miss 3 classes, after your grade will be docked a whole letter grade

Worst teacher I've ever had. Classes are a pointless overview of the chapters read. Paul Lopez frequently misses classes, constantly shows up late, and is incredibly conceded. With all that in mind he had the audacity to change the Syllabus during the semester so that it docs a student a full letter grade for classes missed - failing many students.
