Comment:

A good thing about a course with Morris is he grades by few things so you have an opportunity to focus on your other courses. He has a great sense of humor.. he is always joking around. He is a little intimidating at times but its just the strictness older adults convey. I think he generally wants students to do well. I recommend asking questions

Pretty funny guy but somewhat of a harsh grader. You don't get many opportunities for an A. The main grades are the two papers and the group project. For the project, after presenting he roasts your entire presentation so he prepared for some harsh criticism.

I took history with Morris, and I learned a ton from him. I will be grateful for the rest of my life for the presentation skills that he taught our class. He is intimidating, but very kind and funny. He treats and talks to his students like real adults. Nothing but respect for him.

Morris had a good appeal to me because i liked history, but I really hated the fact that the curriculum was based on reading numerous books. On top of that essays were assigned about every week. Hint to the college life!

I loved this class and Mr. Morris! As long as you put in solid effort you will get atleast a B, and if you have any questions or need help with an assignment he will pull great information out of you. I cant wait to take another Morris class! Would recommend to anyone not just history majors.

Loved him so much! Amazing teacher, and would take classes with him over and over again! Very helpful and always has the students best interest in mind. Can't say enough about how much I loved him as a professor!

If I had a history class it was with him... he is the most interesting man. Full of stories and a font of knowledge... I suggest taking the class- he let me write papers based on my OWN major when in was realted to history... it was so interesting... love his classes... five star rating from me... he is a tough cookie though- work hard

You'd better be prepared to work hard. The class is great, some of the books are painful but it's worth the work. He says we could eat Ivy Leaguers for breakfast and after this class I believe him. He can be unclear about some things. That's just to make sure you have to work hard and think about what you're doing. He's not going to spoon feed you.

He seems REALLY intimidating, but once you get to know him, and the culture of the department, it's not bad. Quirky, eccentric sense of humor... insists on being called "Commissar" (Soviet military position) lol... Do the work, try in his class, and laugh at his jokes, you'll be ok.

Great teacher...can be kind of intimidating at first, but as long as your honest, and try hard in the class...you'll get a lot out of it. Definitely learned a lot from him.. good sense of humor, knows his stuff. Readings for class were challenging, class work takes effort, and definitely GO TO CLASS!

He can be a bit harsh at times, but mostly, he is a great guy. Whether you like him or not, you will admit he is a great teacher, he makes you think about history in a way you never have before. He praises good work, but makes it VERY clear when you do bad in the class. He is hilarious! If you cant handle jokes made about you though, you better toughen up, because he may strike at any time without warning.... watch out.
