He was great!!! Some people thought he was a hard grader, but seriously all you have to do is go to his office hours and you will get an A. Just have him look over your paper then, fix what he says and he will give you an A. The class was interesting and if he is doing the group presentations you get easy points as well with letters to the editors.

Prof Poast has a great teaching style. He is easy to understand and goes through many examples. His exams are straight forward, though some people find them hard. Notes are posted online, but come to every class because he goes over things not in the note and you'll do fine.

had him in a pass/fail class. great lectures, nice guy. his grading took one of my papers to get used to, but he explained to me exactly how to do it the next time. i passed, but really should have taken the A i got.

This prof conducts great lectures. He tries to incorporate current events into his lectures so that students can relate the subject matter to the real world. This makes lectures more interesting. Although, his grading is super strict. Homeworks must be

One of the top profs I had at OSU. Makes you work hard, but is very helpful. Make sure you do well on the written assignments and go to all the reviews. You can learn a lot.

Nice and good in class but when it comes to exams he is super strict in his grading. Its also difficult to get a straight answer out of him in his Office Hours. Graded exams in a way that seemed to be different from lecture and you couldnt really figure out why you missed points. Nice guy but if you have a choice find a different instructor.

Often describes things one way in lectures, then grades them in an entirely different way.

Overall a good teacher who tries to get students thinking for themselves. 666 was certainly the harder of the two while 556 was a bit more broad in scope. I felt a bit underprepared for the exams (666), even after visiting office hours, so that would be my only qualm.

I've had Poast for two classes, and he has been an amazing lecturer. 556 was more interesting of the two, examining current issues in class discussions. 666 is comparatively harder, but no where near impossible if you study. Still a hard grader, but always worth it. He actually cares if you learn.

You can't mess up in 201. It's basic and uses scantron. Now 556 is an interesting class. He gives you good information to make your own decisions. Hard grader, he wants you to get to the point. But you'll learn his skills after the first exam. Have fun.

Great Class! Testing and grading sucks though. Very strict on what he's looking for. Go to the reviews because the review sheet is not enough.

Very excellent teacher!!!! Econ is naturally boring, but Paul puts a fun twist on it (ie studying the NFL and baseball stadiums). The class was some time with weekly letters to the editor, a 5-7pg research paper, and my 14 pg term paper. The term paper is worth 40/75 pts for the class so do it well
